i remember when something similar happened to me, this happened a few years ago. i met this girl in art class and we instantly became friends. we would even go over to each others homes (i don’t normally do this with a lot of people so it’s kind of a big deal to me) i’m and indian (south) and she’s white (don’t know too much since we aren’t really hanging out anymore) she invited me to her party and i was thrilled as i didn’t get invited to a lotta parties back then. at the party, where all her other friends were she decided to hang out with me the most. i tried to get her to be with her other friends but she insisted on hanging out with me. eventually i managed to get her to mingle with them too because i didn’t wanna seem rude for keeping her since they were all her friends too. after the party ended and my dad came to pick me up, he asked her the casual question: “how was my daughter at the party?” to which she said “great blah blah blah” i can’t really say what else she said because i soon after went and sat in the car. as soon as we made it home my dad told me that, apparently, in my friends mothers eyes, i was dragging her away from all my friends and being an “attention seeker”. honestly i cried a lot. i loved her a lot, she was an amazing friend. ;n; edit: ty for the likes! i didn’t expect this to get so many :’D

I think everyone would agree that the woman with the toothache should divorce her husband. The husband's attitude is utterly unacceptable.

I read that same story however it became that the husband was abusive when he stated "Come home and face the consequences." It also believed him and his best friend are gay lovers. Nothing against it but either come out and admit it instead of being an abusive asshole who give zero shit about her. Plus this best friend isn't that hurt or else he would be left in the hospital or actually forced to stay with family members. Speaking from experience at least.

This is the response for the husband yelling at his wife to take care of his friend I suggest she gets a divorce. He's clearly taking advantage of you he's not setting on boundaries for his friend. Can't really say for sure. It's definitely an issue, but you can't judge a person's entire relationship or personality based off one story, maybe he was just hella stressed or sum. Not excusing his actions, just don't like how people see stories about one major argument a couple has and their first response is "Divorce! DIVORCE!!!"
@ItsMinnowSeason
@ItsMinnowSeason 2 жыл бұрын
@@QuokkaWaka probably because these situations are so bizarre and get to a point of being lowkey abusive , like this situation- the husband wouldn't let her go treat her own medical emergency and began getting controlling and pretty condescending. A whiney best friend doesn't come before the wife, the one you legally said you'd always stand by for life. The best friend's behavior should've been obviously unacceptable to him but no instead he went off on his own wife for not basically mothering a grown man- ,_, a very yeesh situation that shows his priorities and how important his wife is to him-
@QuokkaWaka
@QuokkaWaka 2 жыл бұрын
@@ItsMinnowSeason I get that, and this is definitely a pretty bad one, but I don't think you can say it shows his priorities and that he doesn't care for his wife. Everyone has their ugly moments, and I imagine she saw something good in him if she was willing to marry him. Not saying for sure that this isn't just the way he is, but you can't psychoanalyze someone using one (possibly biased) story that paints them in a negative light. Ik that in the end it doesn't really matter, not like anyone in the story is going to see these comments, but I think it's more helpful to solve the problem rather than their entire life. Sometimes from these stories divorce is warranted, and this may be one of those times idk I'm no emotional genius, but I can't say for sure the husband is abusive as that implies he repeatedly belittles and takes advantage of his wife.

Terry is giving selfish and a bully. The fact that he able to take over his best friend household says it all. The wife did the right thing, I hope she left him. I do believe the husband being manipulating by Terry and use his wife to do the caring for him. But he doesn't see wife as a person.

If I was the wife I'll definitely say to my husband this "that's your best friend, not my friend. That's your problem not mine. I welcomed him for hospitality but with that attitude, I'm your wife NOT YOUR BEST FRIEND'S SERVANT. Deal with it." -- I'll just add this. In my country there's no divorce, only an annulment is available. If this is a case I'll definitely won't annulled my marriage to my husband so when he died all his property will be mine. @@booki7057 Nope this is the perfect reason for divorce. He saw the swelling and the wife communicated with him about her pain. Tooth aches are unbearable. That husband doesn't give a crap about his wife. And how dare Terry, an outsider, talk to OP like that? The husband didn't even stand up for his wife. I perfectly know these type of men. They only care about their hollow reputation at the cost of their spouse. I come from a country where divorce is shunned so even I do not believe in getting a divorce because of petty issues. But this clearly isn't okay when the husband is letting his friend walk all over his wife and doesn't care about her well being when she clearly communicated with her husband regarding her problem.

I had a horrible toothache just like the person in the 2nd story a few weeks back. I had no cavities and my wisdom teeth were already removed years ago. The only conclusion that my dentist came up with was that my teeth had high sensitivity due to lacking minerals/enamel so he prescribed me with fluoride toothpaste. After I finished it, I then started using toothpaste that had minerals (mineral boost from pronamel:sensodyne) and also some natural toothpaste and mouthwash from Amazon/etsy. Having a good amount of minerals and enamel for teeth can help reduce teeth sensitivity and may reduce pain during dental work. I'm glad the person in that story went as it could've been something serious. As for me, I think my teeth have been feeling much better since then so this might help anyone who's in the same boat. Also I agree with Ellen, the tooth pain I experienced was AWFUL but ibuprofen really helped.

1st Story: It was okay for the Indian boy's mom to give her son's friend chicken nuggets. Her son told her that his friend is a picky eater, so he wouldn't eat what she cooked. The friend was totally okay/fine with eating the chicken nuggets. 2nd Story: Terry is the husband's friend, so it's the husband's repsonsibility to take care of Terry. Terry treated OP (the wife) like a servant. OP (the wife) needs to divorce her husband. He cares more about his friend Terry. 3rd Story: Nick is a guy who talks/brags about himself and doesn't let the other person get a single word in. He had no right/reason to be mad about paying for all of OP's drinks. OP said multiple times that she can pay for her own drinks. OP didn't do anything wrong. Grace and her boyfriend should've taken OP's side instead of siding with Nick.
@JesusKreist
@JesusKreist 2 жыл бұрын
A bit more serious in story one. OP is *INDIAN* and cooks *TRADITIONAL* food. Her son is Indian as well and accustomed to that. The boy is white and extremely likely never had a remotely spicy meal in his life. Even the least spiced meal a home cooking mom from India, where all of her family is accustomed to that to the point they likely won't even feel how spicy it is anymore, can cook is way too spicy for a mere 9-year-old white suburb boy. It is likely the meal would taste bland and bad to the family members and still be too spicy for the boy if OP did that. *IF* the mom gave her son's friend her meal the chance is relatively high he would have breathed fire and shat brimstone the moment he left. Naturally accompanied by the Karen suing OP for causing damage to her baby. At the second story. I'd hope "Terry" is the 5-year-old boy of the friends of the husband and not a grown man. But he likely is a grown man himself. At least in looks. The husband most likely advertised his home to have a 24/7 maid / slave that would pamper all his wishes before he could issue them. A divorce is highly needed as the flag her husband and his friends wave is so red it is almost black. At the third story. Nick is the usual entitled a**hole you find in every city of more than 3000 inhabitants of the US at least once. Grace and her boyfriend are not much better, either. This is a prime example of false friends.
@QuokkaWaka

Think you're treating ol' Nicky boy a bit too harshly here. He was proud of his new job which he probably worked very hard to get, so he maybe got a bit ahead of himself. There's a solid chance he was more embarrassed than mad, and it was probably a minor issue that blew over in a few days. It just feels like folks are blowing it out of proportion.
@JesusKreist
@JesusKreist 2 жыл бұрын
@@QuokkaWaka Think you're treating ol' Nicky boy a bit too generous and forgiving here. That he almost exclusively talked about *his* job, *his* salary, *his* accomplishments, ... is not a form of respect. Neither deserves it any either. He has not "got a bit ahead of himself", that is a clear sign of a mental and / or social problem. The fact that he got belligerent and mad once he discovered his "blind date" was not a poor cashier without education that he could dominate in any form of relationship as he assumed but a girl that is superior to him in job, salary, accomplishments, ... is the defining character trait. Keep in mind he insisted, even after being told not to, to pay for her drinks. Without a shadow of a doubt with the goal of impressing her and likely getting into her panties.
@QuokkaWaka
@QuokkaWaka 2 жыл бұрын
@@JesusKreist The thing is you got a short synopsis of one encounter someone had with him, and you immediately jump to the conclusion that he has a "mental and / or social problem". I agree that he doesn't seem to be great in social situations, but a mental problem? Where'd that come from? If she really had a huge problem with it, she could've mentioned it and maybe he'd've dialed it back a little, she said herself that she didn't bother because it was entertaining (not saying she's in the wrong, just showing that it really isn't a big deal). I didn't get the impression that he had an issue with a girl being payed more than him, he said that he would've had her pay for her own drinks if he knew she could easily afford it. It was a bit weird how he assumed she was a cashier (maybe he thought that her friend met her from work?), but I don't think that's enough to say he's a misogynist. And again you're assuming the worst with him paying for the drinks. Maybe he would've payed for a man too, we don't know because this is only one story. It's just as likely that that was a way for him to celebrate (or brag about) his new job/salary. Just because he is a man paying for a woman's drinks doesn't mean he wants to get in her pants. I'm not gonna deny that he's pretty weird and perhaps awkward, but you're drawing all sorts of conclusions from nothing. Man brags about his new job and pays for drinks ≠ Egotistical, mysogynistic douchebag tries to get into a woman's pants so he can dominate her using her lower salary
@JesusKreist
@JesusKreist 2 жыл бұрын
@@QuokkaWaka #1 You see "mental problem" and immediately assume "mentally unstable / insane / ..." A person that is blabbering to him-/herself without anyone near has a mental problem. Maybe the name of that specific mental problem is "coffee maker is broken and I'm tired!". A person that does talk about one topic only towards friends even after being asked to stop has a mental problem. That one usually goes by the name "Obsession". Nearly everybody on planet earth has a mental problem. Mostly a minor and unintrusive one. #2 If you think a guy that came as a friend of a friend would pay for the drinks of a dude and not have any underlying thoughts about a girl he is doing it for (unasked mind you) you have a serious trust issue. You are giving far too much of it. #3 He *denied* he would have paid for her drink if he knew she had a higher salary than him and got belligerent and mad about it. That he paid for her (and *ONLY* her) drinks unasked and unwanted is not the problem. It is very hard to not assume he did so for a reason other than to brag about how well he earns. The problem is that he got mad when he found the truth and demanded an apology and reimbursement for making him look like a "fool".

For the second one How can you get another person to stay at your place (even if he's a friend) when you have a wife..... like he could do anything to her and the husband won't even believe her if she told him And there have been so many cases where the spouse and best friend have started a relationship behind the person's back....so wasn't he afraid of that? (I'm not blaming the wife BTW) There is nothing right with this story.....I would've kicked the friend out or divorce

Second story: what does he have going on with the best friend? I would like to know. I mean the wife should be more important then the best friend. I believe in the old vows (idk if it's still in there or not) it states "forsake all others" which means you consider your husbands or wife's side first then someone else's. Terry is a bad friend and should be grateful for everything that she is doing for him.

If you are out with a guy and he never even bothers to ASK what you do for a living, it's not YOUR job to cram that information in his face. He wasn't even interested enough in you to find out anything ABOUT you, so he has no right to get mad that you didn't TELL him! You are right; you did NOTHING wrong.

What kind of 'friend' stays at his friend's house just to bully his wife? And then TATTLES on her to her husband? What is he, FOUR? He can't sit at home alone for two hours? If he needs around the clock BABYSITTING, maybe he should go back to his own house and hire himself a NANNY. That poor woman should tell her husband she didn't take his little 'friend' to raise.

what is it with these entitled parents throwing a hissy fit over what their kid got for dinner? If he had come to MY house for dinner, he could have eaten what my mom made--or gone WITHOUT dinner. That is the harsh reality of things; if his mom didn't LIKE it, she shouldn't have left him over there at dinner time.

Even we went over to our friends' house, our parents would have told us to eat what was cooked. Does she really think the woman is going to cry because the mom won't let her son come over? Who even let their child stay that late? That mom must have been out at the bar or with a man. Terry tattled on his friend's wife. Why is she slaving away for Terry? She's not married to him. Terry is an adult; he can be by himself for a couple of hours. What! The! Actual! Flying! I'm upset for this woman. Terry is not in a truss or body cast. Her husband said she needs to come home to "deal with the results of having him leave his job for hours". No one told him to leave his job except Terry. Divorce is in their future. She shouldn't go back to that house without the police and divorce papers. She needs to get new friends. Grace knew she wasn't a cashier. Grace and her husband were trying to set her up on a date with Nick and it backfired. Why else would Grace and her husband get mad?

The wife with the toothache sounds like it's an abscess. Abscesses in the mouth can be fatal if not treated in time. Obviously her husband would rather be a widow than a divorcee. I suggest she leaves now before his possessive behaviour becomes worse and dangerous.

Terry needs to grow up. When my mother-in-law was around 80 years old, she. broke her knee. My husband was away from home a lot, so he asked me to check in on her. I thought, oh god....how am I going to do this? She didn't speak English & I don't speak Spanish. Ok, but still, I could do things for her, like. make dinner, do dishes & just check in on her & Keep her company for a little while. Even so, it was quite daunting for me, basically bec of the language barrier. I checked on her before going to work and when I got home, & again before settling in for the night. Now, I left for work around 7 a.m. Even that early, she usually had already eaten her breakfast and washed the dishes. The same with dinner. I did not have to do a thing for this lady! She was so self-sufficient. She told my husband I was taking WONDERFUL CARE of her...(I mean, HUH?....I wasn't really doing anything except checking in on her basically). Yet, Terry expected this woman to give up her life for him. He's not even HER friend. I think I would have been contacting divorce lawyers at this point. LOL

I don't know the severeness of Terry's injured knee but if it is that bad that he can't do anything for himself and can't cope 2 hours on his own then shouldn't be in hospital or have a care taker for his own personal safety?. i don't know much about knee injuries so forgive my probable cluelessness as the closes is my mother and stepfather who both dislocated their knee caps (at completely different times one was over nine years ago yhe other just over two). but my mum still managed to do housework,drive and look after children while on crutches while ny stepfather drove drove home the day of the incident and he must have had to drive fifteen to thirty minutes

I agree with everyone saying that the husband and Terry are secret gay lovers. I would dump the friend over the wife for sure if the friend acted like Terry did. That’s why Terry has no wife of his own. He is 1.) Gay and 2.) a horrible person. The husband is pretty horrible too. They’re perfect for each other lol 😂
