Brighton were in the 4th tier, going nowhere, playing to 2,000 fans in a 6,000 capacity converted athletics stadium with no roof that most clubs in Eastern Europe wouldn't go near, looking like they might even go bankrupt when Guardiola's playing career was winding down. This isn’t tiki taka. Every pass brighton play is with purpose. Tiki taka was trying to confuse opponents structure to then exploit them during the game by passing as quickly as possible(yes Barca was that good that they could essentially pass the ball around a couple of times and figure out on the spot what their weakness was and exploit it; their improv was that good). Man city and Brighton play specific passes and routines to get a team to be in a specific position to exploit the already planned weakness. Tactically much different. Obviously this is very broad and I have mentioned none of the details. Playing tiki taka effectively is the hardest thing to do in football imo
