Over the past two decade or so, the bassist has left it's traditional role because of artists like this. Music, like jazz, rock, blues to name a few, is changing once again and the bass is being recognized as a lead instrument. Thank you for a very cool video

I remember years ago telling a woman that I worked with about this bass solo (Stanley Clarke I think) that I had heard. She looked at me like I had three eyes and stated firmly, "bass is not a soloing instrument." I wish I could show her this. This is beautiful, great playing guys!

@@Michael-kx2bn Wow, what a shame. I was just talking to my wife about this and showed her the video, which she liked. It seems to me that there are so many great musical artists out there that are never heard or recognized as a contributing musician to music when the opposite is quite true. In the eyes of the music industry, it takes decades to change from one popular style of music to another. Right now, to me, most popular artists are lacking the kind of talent these two men have. I've found amazing music here on The Tube that I won't find anywhere else. At least there is one format that I can find truly talented musicians.

@@fstopPhotography I'm on KZbin pretty much every night finding and listening to musicians like these guys. While being a bass player myself guys like this leave me in their dust, but that's OK because I love listening and watching and hoping that I might learn something new. I also love this because of the Latin flavor in it.

@@Michael-kx2bn I myself am just learning the bass. I needed something to do during the lock-down due to Covid. I've decided to build a bass guitar. I ended up building four. Then reality hit me and thought I should know how to play if I'm going to build one....or four. Still learning and enjoying the build. These two give me inspiration and a goal to strive for. Good luck on your bass skills.

@@fstopPhotography You're a very thoughtful guy and I have enjoyed our conversations. I have little doubt you'll learn the bass well no matter what direction you take it. BTW, building a bass has been in the back of my brain for a long time but I SUCK at woodworking. I've watched builds here on KZbin and even if I had the skills, I could never afford the tools needed. Best of luck to you! Hopefully we'll talk again in the future.

Que buen sonido el del maestro Pepe Bao, si alguien me podría decir que pedal o efecto está usando (parece que es un chorus aunque no sé q marca es) agradecería muchísimo.
