I discovered this channel a few months ago. I have been following it assiduously. Thank you, Nima, for the countless interviews, all of which are of the highest quality and reliability. I am Brazilian and I am very happy to see our dear Pepe Escobar, together with you. However, my heart, besides being Brazilian, also belongs to places that have suffered so much, for decades, because I am of Syrian descent (my maternal grandfather, from Aleppo) and Lebanese (my paternal grandfather, from Beirut), in addition to having a more distant aunt, who is Palestinian and is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Some of my relatives born in both Syria and Lebanon (in 1975) had to flee and leave everything behind, in response to the constant internal and external wars in this complicated region, which unfortunately continues to this day. Governments fall, new ones are established, but the root of the problems remains the same. For those who follow history outside the bubble of their own interests, realize that the cards have been dealt, since the first conflicts, at the beginning of the 20th century, by the same hands: those of the USA (with the UK as the faithful squire, as always) and Israel, even though other agents come and go, according to the need and interests of each moment. If there was a genuine will to end these conflicts, this would have been achieved long ago. But how can this be achieved, if the same agents who say they are interested in promoting peace and ending these wars are the same ones who promote them, who feed on them? Increasing profits (money, money, money) and the circle of influence (power at any cost) end up becoming the purpose of a life to be achieved.The saddest thing of all is to see that the lives of innocent civilians never really matter at all, because they are seen as mere pieces in a game run by immature, resentful people who suffer from deep and worrying neuroses and psychopathies, which border on cruelty and cowardice. The world can only improve and be transformed the day we once again have individuals who lead from a philosophy of love for life and for everything that exists on this planet. Where ethics, justice, compassion, respect for diversity and solidarity can lead to a trully collaborative and egalitarian coexistence.

Another extraordinary analysis by the incredible Pepe Escobar!!! Absolutely amazing how knowledgeable he is about current events around the globe! His expertise about the Middle East is broad based and quite comprehensive! It would appear that Syria has been turned into a real disaster. I don’t think the Americans, Israelis or Turkey, fully comprehended the ramifications of what they all helped set in motion, by toppling the Assad Regime. It has all the earmarks of the catastrophe that the West unleashed in Libya, so many years ago. To this date, Libya is still floundering as an economic, political and cultural disaster zone. Syria , it would appear, may be on the same path, and with equally horrifying results!!! The West, Israel included, have all mastered the art of regime change and leaving horrendous destruction in their wake. Rebuilding after forcing regimes out of power, is something they do not have the first clue about. This is simply their latest attempt at meddling in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation, and the results will be devastating for the people of Syria!!! The consequences of forcing Assad from power, will be unfolding for the months and years to come. This is a very troubling turn of events, and likely will negatively impact the Middle East for years to come! Thank you Nima for inviting Pepe Escobar back as a guest on your wonderful podcast. His insightful responses to your thought provoking questions , give us all a much clearer picture as to what is going on in the world. Keep up the good work!
@istudios2257 сағат бұрын
Of course they "fully comprehended the ramifications of what they all helped set in motion". It is exactly their endgame. Not only Libya but so *many* countries in the region as well are floundering to this day, directly because of the West's actions.

Do you know why the US does so much throughout history to help out Mexico and Canada? Having an unstable neighbor causes all kinda of problems. Israel is going to suffer from Syria becoming unstable and it’s very likely the faction that eventually takes control of Syria will want to take back all lands of Syria taken by Israel. There’s a strong possibility Syria quickly becomes a quagmire for the west that could cost them Israel in a few years from now.
