My Dad played this on his guitar, an Ibanez.......He did not make a will and when he died of a heart attack in 1970, all of his guitars were given away or sold by his truly miserable second wife who was more interested in money than anything else you can think of. Whoever got all of his guitars certainly has wonderful instruments and I know they are well cared for. PLEASE make a will if you have precious things to leave to somebody. PLEASE support music and all the arts in schools. The first grade is not too young. Happy 2023

I think the same, could it be because it is an expression of love in all its simplicity: so kind, warm and gentle? It's not trying to impress or boast like many other artistic expressions common today. That could be enough, although I tend to go a step further as a Christian, and also claim that it is an expression of our deepest relationship with God, of His forgiveness and love, which we secretly long for in this forsaken world?

I would just like to take a moment to say how kindhearted and wonderful everyone in the comments section is. Thank you all for the kind words and reassurance that everything will be okay. I am on the autism spectrum, and often mask how I feel, so listening to music like this really helps me process these feelings, and oftentimes cry because of it. Like I’m free to be myself and not try to conform for others’ comfort. In a world with so many harsh sounds, something about music that is so gentle to the ear just makes me cry.

Oblivion is where we came from and where we are all going eventually. We can only hope that wherever we end up there is real music like this or at least the essence of whatever it is that makes music effect us. There is a connection between music, the cosmos, and our soul, for lack of a better word. How else could 100 yr old songs make us feel what we feel, seems to me that music is something we have not yet seen it's true depth..

@juanvargas92 жыл бұрын
From a master we can hear the trills, vibrato, dynamics, slides, 2, or 3 strings strummed simultaneously. Brilliant. The rhythm comes from Cuba or the Caribbean Islands. It is named "habanera". You hear this beat Bizet's Carmen. Bizet recognized its Caribbean roots, and internationalized the beat, a simple one. The composer, Sebastian Yradier. The lyric is dazzlingly serene and romantic. A lover’s plea, an ode. Musically it is deceptively simple, but contains evocative triplets which give the song its own lyrical signature, accentuated by many a romantic singer.
@martiglesias60 Жыл бұрын
Bizet didn't recognized the Caribbean roots, it was the Spanish version he knows when Cuba was a province of Spain.
