The female artist is my mother, she made this chanting joik to me when i was a child. The male artist is Ole Larsen Gaino, a well known(in Sápmi) and skilled performer of traditional Sámi joik, and in this remix you can hear mixed parts of a joik which belongs to a man called pikku Kemi.

recently found out im a descendant from a Sami family that moved south, then the woman Im related to in turn married a jewish man, and I sorta got curious about my roots :P And I must say that I absolutely love the music of Sami! And thats just my mothers side, my father is part Romani (kind of a Northern Gypsy), part Warmland-man, iffy about where the rest of the family-tree leads from there, but that search is for another day. sry, Im rambling - got all excited over this find xD Awesome music!

Sami people lived for thousands of years in a large territory... Russia Finland Sweden and Norway...much later, other cultures took their land and build a lot of modern states....then they the sami became separate...but still, the beautiful sami people lives in all this countries...despite extermination and assimilation as all over the worls....I love their values, cultur, music, handicrafts....

tens of thosand years ago it got very cold and dark in hyperborea, these moved to what they knew as "BLUELAND", these ,in turn, wanted to go "home", to "hyperborea", but now the "bluelanders" were touareg and berber, the new world order, had decreed borders, and "nations" and there was no more hyperborea, the battles led to saint charles, and the new roman empire, that now must be recovered from , of course talking heads don't tell hehe

Hehehe, funny to see how many places people "think" this music is from...Taiwan, Korea and so on. Let me set the record straight here, This is a sami yoik from Guovdageaidnu in the north of Norway. It belongs to a man called Johnny Mathis Sara, and this is his mother joiking. How do I know this? I know them both. The recording was stolen by enigma and put into their song. Hope this helps clarify everything. :)

Sami people are like the swedish indians or should i say,scandinavian indians. Its said that sami's are related to your indians in america. And it wouldn't be so weird. You find alot of similar things of the sami's and your indians. Sami's are ''originally'' black haired. Look on google! :D
@DoriSnow12 жыл бұрын
Certain types of blondes and light blue eyes are also uniquely Finno-Ugric. It's hard to pinpoint all of this, since Scandinavia as a whole has throughout history been very diverse and all its populations mixed back and forth. A lot of Sami heritage is among Icelanders, while modern day southern Swedes and Norwegians have a lot of Northern German, Dutch and Frisian in their ancestry, from the Hanseatic era. The concept of race is such horse crap as more is revealed of drift all over as we speak.

yes, but sámis can't be called is not an ethnic swede. Todays sámis are mixed. the have germanic ancestry too. But sámi as a sámi is not an ethnic swede, because its not swedish. It may have been here longer then the swede it self.
