The comic book part of the game reminds me of a game that I believe was on Sega Genesis called comic zone back in the early 90's, it was more of a beat em up type of game than a shooter.

I love 2D Platformers but I almost always hate bullet-hell games and I wasn't crazy about the art style... at first. I bought the game anyway because I value your opinion and now I'm super addicted! This totally scratches that Dead Cells itch I had, that other Rogues weren't able to do. And I got it on sale for $10, I appreciate your vids brother.

I have to fully clear each panel on every run. Eight hours in, I have only managed to beat ONE main boss for the jungle comic. And that was a fluke. I feel like I'm never going to see the other comics, like, ever. But I don't really care, 'cos I'm having a fucking BLAST playing this game. And rogue-like style games are usually not my thing at all.

i really hate how the final stage locks you out of progression, the progression was the only reason why i even picked this game up since the feeling of losing all your progress/wasting your time really kills my motivation in other roguelikes.

If it's like other similar games the right stick does the aiming in 360 degrees. It works fine in other games and seeing that it's not just for pc the dev likely made it work fine and PS4 players have reviewed it well.

Dead Cells easy? You must be amazing at it. Took me a month to get to 4 Boss Cells and another month just to get 5.

Yeah... stingy with providing health pickups... That's why I stopped playing roguelikes cause I'm so sick of that. "Sublevel Zero" was supposed to be like a roguelike "Descent", but it plays nothing like Descent if you have to manage your health so carefully, since you rarely get any health back. And sadly, being forced to play in a hectic way to keep the combo going isn't my cup of tea. It's slightly more stupid than having a timelimit, and both systems force you to rush through the game.

@@jakethesnake8242 A competent dev could develop a difficult game without bad gamedesign. "im sick of games being too easy now" Than... play harder games? Sorry, but just cause easier games exist, doesn't mean hard games aren't a thing anymore. "Nioh 2" for example. You get plenty of health items and there is no timelimit anywhere to be seen... and I bet you would still fail in spectacular ways.

Not saying this is a bad game... but the praise that "it looks like a comic book" makes me scratch my head. There's some white lines at the edge of the level... _That's it?_ Check out Comic Zone from 1995 to see how you pull of that aesthetic correctly. This ain't it chief.

Yes! its Comix Zone for genesis, i remember that game and I'm still shocked how it pulled off that comic feeling, speaking about comics look check out XIII 2003,

I enjoyed this until I got to that black and white world which cut me off from the 3rd comic level.. and it's so cheap on health n have to beat 4 bosses on no health drops. Screw this
