Just purchased a couple of these one I keep right by my front door and one in my car! I wanted something that has the potential to hit multiple people for a good length of time. The fogging effect I really like too

I carry a 4oz bottle with the orange tab on a inside pocket of my jacket. I would highly recommend you keep the orange tab on it. It's a huge thumb button that if pressed or smacked once it will go off. It's way more powerful then a regular can of pepper spray.

No, The fire master unit above is designed to release a powerful fine mist making it highly aerosolized and causing immediate effects. For example, a gel pepper spray can take a few seconds to kick in when sprayed in the face of a threat; where it can be quickly wiped off and minimizing the effects. Or worse could be thrown back at you. The other 5oz Flip Top model you are referring to is a traditional stream spray pattern and produces multiple 14-16ft blasts when tapping and releasing on the acuator. Or it can be held down for a continuous spray.
