The amazing Nili Brosh came out to the clinic I held at Los Angeles' Musicians Institute in January 2017, and I called her up on stage for an impromptu jam! The song is one of hers and it's called 'A Matter of Perception'

I'm pretty sure I grew a similar beard while waiting for the new Scar Symmetry album.

Just so very nice. Huge Per fan and Nili shines so brightly in her own way and in contrast to Per on this jam. Such a pleasure to listen and enjoy these two create such beautiful music. Kudos to them both.

i see per nilsson i press like. good shit man, love the phrasing and that strandberg is growing on me. love how often your playing sounds outside too, the notes that you hang on at the end of some phrases have some nice mystery to them

I love seeing the difference between their approaches on this - Per gliding around the fingerboard like some kind of bearded android playing these impossibly smooth, synthy kind of leads, and Nili wrestling shred lines out of her strings like a badass, all pick attack and hard bends - hell, even her tapping looks aggressive.

"bearded android"lol I was thinking more like extraterrestrial. all of these Swedish musicians, Meshuggah, Mats/Morgan band, Mattias Eklundh... they all have an extraterrestrial level of musicianship and a certain "too perfect to actually be true-ness" that I sometimes wonder... could they have come from another galaxy? ... or maybe Im just really high when I have strange ideas

Hey Per, you should hook up with Lee Sklar? You would out-zztop ZZ Top.

Per, is The Absence ever going to release their album? I know it's not like you are holding it up or anything but they were a very inspiration band in my past and it's sad so see them seemingly fizzle out now that Peter Joseph has moved on.
@ScarGuitar7 жыл бұрын
I left The Absence three years ago but I still keep in touch with Jeramie (I consider him one of my very best friends) and I have heard some of the new stuff they are working on, and it is RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. Their new guitar players are beyond sick :)

Per Nilsson I didn't honestly expect a response, and especially not this quick. Thanks Per that has been reassuring. Now that I think about it didn't your beard get lengthy after exposure with the Absence? Also you and Nili were both amazing here, parts of your material is holdsworthy but with more hook afterwards.

He pretty much blows her away, if that's what it's about, right? Nice to see them come together at the end...

Outstanding jam! laughed my ass off on your face expression while you was doing that chromatic stuff on 2:16 - 2:18)))) chromatics are sound really funny sometimes - like you're dizzy on rollercoaser or did couple of whiskey shots which was redundant and made you laying under bar in result or fighting all the objects moving around you))) or all in the same)
