For problem 9: saving ratio is 15% and 5% which is 1:3. So from 40000 , 1:3 ratio is 10000:30000. So salary of A 10000 and B 30000.

For Q.6, Calculation part is little bit difficult for competitive exams.. I solved in this way.. which I feel easy in calculating.. After spending 20% of income.. let remaining salary be 100%, he spend 25%+15%+15%+10%=65% Remaining is 100-65= 35% 35%of X= 9800*100/35= rs. 28000 Let full salary =100% After spending 20% of his salary that means(100-20)= 80% 80%of X= 28000 X= 28000*100/80 = Rs. 35000/-

One doubt sir, in question (Mr.X) can't we solve it this way? (100-20)%=80% 80%-(25+15+15+10)%=15% Then 15%=Rs. 9800 Therefore 100% = Rs. X Then x = 9800*100/15=65

for last question another method : consider the base amount be 100 so 12 % of 100 is 12 rupees for donation. but he decided to give 125 % of 12 that is 15. so for 15 % -> 2400 100 % -> x then x = 16000
