He multiplied 1st eqn(m+f=6200) with 1.12 after that he subtracted the resultant eqn(1.12m+1.12f=6944)from 2nd eqn(1.12m+1.16f=7072) I guess that's the confusing part for you, he did that to eliminate 1 variable(m) and get value of other variable (f) hope that clears out ur doubt
