Pan was a satyr who was the god of the wild. The mist is what keeps humans from seeing what is really happening so when that lady saw the dog, this is how humans see the monsters.

Yes Percy can breath under water. He did not know this until now. He only found out the water heals him, not just any water, only a running stream or a lake. The voice that keeps talking to him in his dreams is the voice of Chronos (the Titan who was the god of time and the father of Zeus and other gods. Ares, Athena and poseidon are Chronos' grandchildren.

Poseidon is actually also Kronos's child and so Zeus brother. Ares is Zeus's son and Percy Poseidons son and so they are cousins.
