@ninakrishnamurthy667410 ай бұрын
@@juliana-fu8hi My comment had nothing to do with the budget. I’m saying this is why the episodes are so short. Not because child actors are expensive, but because they filmed less. Percy Jackson already had 50 fewer filming days than GOT. That becomes even less when you factor in the smaller amount of time that child actors are actually able to work. I’m saying that I’ve seen fans accuse Disney of not allowing the writers to write longer episodes, when I think it’s more likely that they were made this short to accommodate for what they would actually be able to film in the time they were allotted. Admittedly, I’ve never worked in TV before, so I could be talking out my ass. I just think it’s a bit unfair to demand that the episodes be longer when they likely only had a limited time to film.

They all kept each episode internally consistent and wrapped up nicely, they incorporate the most iconic scenes from the book more intimately and directly related to their quest, and we get to understand why the bad guy does what he does by the time the twist is revealed at the end! I would not have the same friends, I wouldn't've made the same choices, and I wouldn't have all the same moral convictions without getting to love Percy and all of his friends. And then, as if that weren't enough, you gave us Alex Fierro. I had never before in my life seen another genderfluid person like me in fiction. To meet her, and to see her be a part of the stories that I had loved for so long by that point, to see clearly that she was created with so much love and care and respect......I had to take a break from writing this to cry. I will never forget where I was or how I felt when I met her. Rick’s close collaboration on the series and the casting decisions really make the series sing! BUT, they really should’ve gone for a twofer and shot the second book right after because of how quickly Walker and Leah have grown up. It’s a risk casting early adolescent children, Walker was 12 when he auditioned whilst filming The Adam Project and if you look at him in TAP, he’s a small squirly 12 year old and sometimes boys mature late giving directors the ability to use them in a child/early teen role like PJ in the first books even into their mid teens. That didn’t happen with Walker. By filming he was an average 13 year old starting to mature and by the end of filming, he was 6” taller and a deeper voice and by the time of the launch at almost 15, he’s now almost adult height with a man’s voice. By the time they begin to film season 2, he will be 16 and even older looking and literally too old for the role of PJ which is a tragedy as he’s a fabulous actor who has aced this role magnificently.
