Gods are greedy in regards to their domains; you can't just run out and take over what a particular god is the god of. Percy intrudes on the rest of Zeus's domain and there's going to be a smiting whether Poseidon tries to step in or not. Thankfully Percy's not capable of turning into various animals or his own daughter to seduce people and...probably even less capable of infidelity, honestly, so the majority of Zeus' domain is still safe!
