Boston - Boston was the first thing that came to mind when I thought of a "perfect" album. Great songs front to back, I think my favorite is Hitch A Ride. That sudden transition from slow to fast in the second chorus, the way that last solo slides in following the quiet chorus, just gorgeous songwriting

Being extremely familiar with 4/5ths of your list-the Soft Boys listing had me checking out song samples and HOW IN THE HELL HAVE I NOT HEARD THIS MELODIC MASTERPIECE WITH ROBYN HITCHCOCK OUT FRONT!?!? I have certainly seen the Soft Boys named in many music mags and what not......but never followed up, for some reason. I think I believed they were too experimental, not musical enough. But they are EXACTLY the type of slightly off center, guitar based, smart and clever band that I am always searching for (like The dB's, Game Theory, Wire Train, Let's Active, The Feelies, Velvet Crush etc. ) and now thanks to you, Mike Shannon, I just ordered the c.d. for 10 bucks on amazon! @@garyserdoz6915 Who's next is indeed one of the greatest rockalbum ever. But it could have been a bit greater if "pure & easy " wasn' t banned. Townshend released it on his first solo album, but without Daltreys voice. " Once was a note pure and easy" was the initial idea for the narrative he was working on. I think it' s a very good song.

Who's Next is so good, the stuff that was left off could make a great album. Pure and Easy would be the best song on almost any album, but it wasn't good enough to make the cut of Who's Next. That is how good Who's Next is.

I always enjoy the times when Pete Pardo and Martin Popoff discuss a topic. When the two of them are involved, you know you are for a treat. As I watched this video, I was once again impressed with Pete's hosting abilities and Martin's knowledge of the music. And I appreciate that Martin will listen to a contrarian opinion about a song, band, or album. He has a way of appreciating the point and then brings in his thoughts on the topic in a non-offensive manner. These two guys are masters of their craft! Great video!
