So a few things to clarify: - Since this was a launch video it was made before any public comment was made about the VRMs. - Gigabyte have since clarified that the board actually has a 4+3, NOT 8+3, phase design. This was not ever updated in press materials though. - Despite the lack of claimed phases, my statements on it's usage and effectiveness still stand. With a 2700X it runs just fine, still boosts to full clock even with 100% prime 95 load. No VDroop or any other issues.

You got one information wrong. The board does not have 8+3 Hybrid Phase. Ii is not even Big 4 Phase like what MSI or AsRock board has. It is straight 4 Phase with 8 inductor that looks like a 8 Phase.

I run this board with a 3600X (after the required firmware and BIOS updates). It runs fine for the most part but has lousy CPU fan control--the Wraith Spire LED cooler (that's what I'm using) fan surges between roughly 1600 RPM and 2200 RPM continuously, even at idle. I've tried a number of BIOS adjustments and Ryzen Master adjustments to fix this, but none work. I probably should have RMA'd the board for this issue.

The PRO has a better sound card. I think it's the biggest difference. You should know that they removed some options form BIOS in latest updates. Also I have a problem with overclocking RAM past 3000 MHz (with the newest updates). Ran 3200 MHz when I bought it. I have the same problem with AORUS X470 Gaming 5 WiFi.

I don't know if you have probably already found how, but all you have to do is get into the BIOS, click under the Peripherals tab, click on RGB Fusion, turn off RGB, and save before exiting.

Ryzen 5 at most on this. Its a 4-3 VRM with extra chokes. They no longer claim it 8-3. Its a hot VRM stock. It has purpose OC and bios limits (heat issues no doubt). RAM limit 3200-3400 MHz perfect for a 5. In fact everything about this board is perfect for any gen Ryzen 5. Leave the OC alone and work the RAM OC concentrating on tight timings for a real bump 20 FPS. The Wi-Fi is lesser version but fine. Best for real premium features and RGB looks at $100 now. If no OC Ryzen 5 is you get this.

I wound up using this board for my first two builds and they’re both going strong. After several years and plenty of prodding around, all I really have to complain about that doesn’t seem user specific are the seemingly weak Bluetooth and WiFi features. Bluetooth interferes easily and the weaker wifi signal lead me to buying a new router

When Installing a M.2 SATA or PCIe module on M.2A Socket, you are "losing" both ASATA3 ports (Grey color). When installing a module on M.2B socket (works only with PCIe drives only), you are "losing" the 2 right ports out of 4 Black colored SATA ports (ports SATA3 2 and SATA3 3) Now is really coming a new question..... When using BOTH M.2 ports (SATA + PCIe or PCIe + PCIe).... are you "losing" totally 4 out of 6 SATA ports?????

first thing you should consinder when buying things is you don't know how to update bios and if you don't know if your cpu is compatible with your board then first ask seller if the mobo is compatible to the cpu your planning on using and if its then ask if therese a need to update bios if there is then you can let them update the bios beforehand.

@@TechteamGB Here in my country this b450 pro and the steel legend are among the cheapest. Tomahawk is some what i heard the best. Base on techyescity review the steel legend 's vrm runs hot around 97 degrees with 2700x. I know the tdp of 3700x is 65 but it has more cores. I would recommend you go from RGB ram to normal Vengeance, upgrade the 1600 to a 3600, and switch out the AMD Card for a 1070. AMD RX cards are powerful, but with the software and drivers, they are very very bad at this point still

@@Bitcash1 I'd recommend getting a 1660 super over the rx590 and a 3600 over 2600. Also ditch the hyper 212, you don't need an aftermarket cooler imo, in games with the stock cooler at 60% fan speed mine doesn't go over 62 degrees.

Hi there I was looking at getting one of these boards. Tell me I have the Thermaltake Core P5 which is just an Open Frame with waterooling so there are no case fans at all. Would the VRM on this board be okay without any airflow going over the board as there are no fans? My current ASRock MB gets to 80 degrees celsius when the system is at full load playing a game.

Go with the Tomahawk , pros 8+3 vram. Better temps vram. Great for overclock. Cons does have much colors. Depends if you like RGB to be honest im not big fan. I got Gigabyte Aorus WiFi edition for my son with 2600 and he loves RBG and how the motherboard looks.

Finnaly someone with the same problem, um using this motherboard with a r5 3600 and I don't know how to find the vcore voltage to overclock the cpu

Pedro c I think I figured it out the vcore dvid try 0.18 and then see on cpu z what’s the core voltage is.. currently I’m just using ryzen master for overclock because when I did it on ryzen master it gave me better cinebench scores

@@mbkoora me to unfortunately to get the frequency I wanted wich is 4.2 I need 1.4 volts but some people say it's a a very high voltage so I'm gonna stick with 1.3375 volts and 4.150ghz

I got this motherboard and the one I got came with the bios updated already on the box it should say 3000 ready or something
