A brilliant move is based on the depth of the move. Like the engine of course sees Bf5 it threats mate and threats the queen and he has no defense so it's easy. But, a brilliant move is more like "ok my queen is attacked let's move it to h4...no to g7 it feels better" BOOM BRILLIANT MOVE because this scumbag engine says that 37 moves later it's better for the endgame than Qh4 Sorry for being too serious, but some people really think that I had to say it

Knight c6 definitely prevents mate but you lose your queen, you can't take back or you lose your rook, your bishop is hanging, your other bishop isn't hanging neccessarily but it's guarded by a rook which is under attack, it's crazy how much material is up even when black blocks the checkmate.

there is a defense, if blacks dark bishop takes c3 with check, the black queen can go to a4, but the position is completely winning for white

No? If the queen goes to a4 it gets taken by the white queen, you can't go to a4 after Qd8 because it's check... The only way to stop mate as black is to sack the queen with Nd7 or prepare some other defence of the d7/d8 squares... Either way you're losing a lot of material and should probably take the quick death

@@kylel3784 Qh5 doesn't stop mate because after whites Qd8, black had two options. Either Kd7 which blocks the queen's protection and is Mate in 1. Or queen blocks by Qe8, which is taken by the Knight. Black can't take back and can't run away so after Kc7 and Qe8 the mate was delayed but still occurs
