I used to straighten my hair every day from age 12-20 because I thought my curly hair wasn’t pretty. Even these days I struggle with wearing it natural because of self conscious reasons. Like it. Funny, been looking at Salvador Mundi and Leonardo da Vinci paintings and sketches recently. For him, curly hair was part of his model of beauty. Specially, like you said, little curls at the front. He used beauty to empower his sense of God or Infinity.

Thanks, Cornelia! That really helps, and you were so cute when you said "I have no blood in my arms!" LOL! I have short hair, very curly in the back and straight as your hair in the front. I now think I can make it work. I didn't know you could separate the curls when you're done, and that's helpful, too. And, waking up with a bird's nest on your head! Haha!

Tami Cosby be careful if you do this!! i asked to get a curly perm once and my parents agreed to pay for it for my birthday but it just really damaged my hair beyond repair and just came out permanently crimped with NO ringlets whatsoever. but then because my hair was so damaged bc of the treatment it couldn’t be fixed for almost a YEAR where i had to pay *double* just to get my hair permanently straightened (it’s natural position) i’m guessing some people can do it very well- my salon did not!!

og SMALL tip! 😅 pls brush ur hair from ends first, then move up (this video is quite old so maybe you do that now haha), i know the sound is "satisfying" but it is the sound of your hair ripping and stretching on the brush and really damages it😭😅 that's just my recommendation, although it can give a nice "messy" texture to your hair i suppose

When I tried for the first time it was nice for one day or two. After that it was matted underneath and it became a complete nightmare to detangle in the bath. Do you think I did something wrong? Try brushing from bottom of hair to roots and it won’t pull so much or hurt so bad.
