It’s almost like a theatre performance , you are acting so happy but then the reality hit and you turn and feel helpless doing so which is why you feel so trapped but the spotlight is on you because you are exposed to the emotions , the chair resembles you possible being so exhausted with having to always feel sad coz I’ve noticed you are only sat down when you are sad but then you kick or push the chair when you are angry

Waiiiitttt or the theatrical side and the over the top happiness in butterflies shows how everyone thinks you are dramatic so you have to put fake emotions on rather than exposing them , so when the spotlight is on you after your ex upset you in some way your true emotions were revealed and the seat in medicate when you were sat in the other chair is like when you watching yourself be defeated and reflecting on what just happened like a show and then in Honestly (not sure if it’s related but anyways) you kick the chair because he always told you were being dramatic and over the top , but in this song the new guy wasn’t sure what he was doing to you and you didn’t want to reveal it and you had to push the chair away because you weren’t sure whether you were being dramatic or not and that’s why you are still friends unlike the pathological liar so in conclusion you were conflicted , then in butterflies you were a singer , a dancer , a housewife (?) and a beautiful blue woman 😂, the singer and dancer resembled you as well putting on a fake show and you were angry for letting yourself portray that , the angry housewife was maybe you had to live a stereotype that they were suppose to be neat and tidy and quiet but that’s not who you are and then the blue part was you trying to be happy and playing with butterflies

Omg just had an idea! Idk if it’s true but what if all of these are like performances on stages cause she feels like she’s putting on a show for others. That would explain why she tries to keep a smile because she doesn’t want people to see through he act. Idk just an idea 💡 Edit: second theory: I think that the chair represents a boy like in Medicate when we saw it she was with it maybe symbolizing that she was still holding onto a person. In honestly she was kicking it away to maybe show that she was done with that person. In this one she’s trying to get rid of it but still wants to keep it maybe showing that she wants to try to move on with this person. Ok so I think the song is about her being cheated on so the room she is in represents how she is feeling, she feels alone and she needs support (the chair represents the support because it is keeping her up) but she isn’t getting it she is just alone and she is upset about the situation that has happened because of how dark the room is, it represents how dark/low she is feeling and at the end of the song her friend runs in and helps her up so I believe that means that at the very breaking point of the situation she is in and as soon as she gets upset or is in that ‘perfect day’ again (when she found out she was being cheated on) her friend is always there to bring her back up, to make her happy again so in a way it is kind of a happy song.

so a recurring theme in all of the 2-way mirror music videos is the black chair. I am not the first person to realize this but the black chair almost always represents HIM. In Honestly, Gabbie kicked away the chair to show she was done with him. In A Perfect Day she is clinging to the chair, she doesn't want to give HIM up but she knows it's a toxic relationship, and in the end, she throws the chair, finally leaving HIM. In Medicate, she is surrounded by the chairs, a support group without support, but also surrounded by HIM. She can't escape these thoughts and turns to anti-depressants to try to help her. (I am probably looking too into this and I would like to credit everyone who thought of these things before me, though I can't name specific people

Also I think that the chair was possibly the relationship in general. Gabbie kept pushing him away and giving him chances. In honestly she kicked the chair away, in perfect day the chair is back, trust was broken, she pushed the chair away again, and finally in medicate the chair is back. (The music videos we have so far with the chair) Now, in medicate it starts off with Gabbie and him (in the lyrics) checking up on each other. She starts with "I'm unwell, thanks for asking" and a few lines down she says "How've you been? Glad to hear it." So the chair is back because they are catching up. Edit: Thank you for liking my comment. I TOTALLY FORGOT TO MENTION BUTTERFLIES. The chair there was her being hurt by him. I still believe heavily that it is symbolic of him and their relationship. Hopefully she will let us know when everything is over.

Remember she also had a chair in the Honestly video also, so had to be a meaning to the videos now; and the way Butterflies and Perfect Day were done is like a performance piece with simple sets, like a play, and that butterflies was scene one and perfect day scene two, making Butterflies a foreshadowing to come. And after watching Butterflies it made me think "The Gabbie Show", her performing her life out for us. But that's just some of the ideas and thoughts that have popped into my head, of course i could be wrong.

I think even though Perfect day came after, I think it was more an explanation and sequel to butterflies then a prequel. Showing her in the darkness showing her finally realizing what happened and her confusion and newfound anger with him and the situation but also the doubt and denial within herself. She has this storytelling in her song that almost explains butterflies. In butterflies it shows Gabbie happy sounding but doubtful and angry(passive aggressive) and saying she has butterflies and is so in love which resembles the beginning of perfect day. Then in the middle something just snaps as if she's in denial about the relationship and motions into sadness, pain, and then anger like when she said she was looking into the mirror she thought it was for her at first, then realizes it wasn't and is sad, but then realizes her anger at him for what he did. A feeling of rage but then picking herself up almost like the beginning but still the residue of blood showing she got hurt kind of showing how she turned out after the experience from the end. She doesn't wipe it off maybe as a reminder that he hurt her and why she won't forgive him and that it's a part of her now but in a way it has made her wiser and stronger as a person. This is my interpretation and could be completely wrong it's just what I thought I could try and piece together.

for the chair thing i have a feeling it has to do with the therapy circle in medicate if you count there are five chairs. there are also five colors that gabbie seems to wear in all the videos shes done that connect to the chairs 1 for blue(butterflies) 1 for yellow(Butterflies) 1 for pink/red(butterflies 1 for black(Honestly, Medicate,Butterflies, plus Perfect Day) 1 for white(Butterflies) and 1 for gabbie herself(Medicate) so i have a feeling that each of these colors coincide with different stories in the EP or different emotions that gabbie has felt and butterflies just introduced them to us, the rest of the videos if there are more with focus on each color just like this one focused more on black. that's just an idea i'm probably totally wrong lol
