The amazing thing about this guy is that he symbolizes everything a robot toy is supposed to be. I see a bit of Transformers, Gundam, and Super Robot traits in him- and there are so many extra fan-modes that it makes the money worth it. If you left Warden without an Autobot sticker, he could easily stand alone in his own league- because I've never owned a robot toy with such incredible engineering and detailing. Get this guy. Right Now. He's awesome. ^_^

After spending the last couple hours with my figure, I agree with you Emgo, this figure is genius! The fact that he can go from giant tank to compact head is brilliant. This figure is WELL worth the money. And after playing with tank mode for a while, it grows on ya.

In case you were wondering how this toy is called Warden, it's a reference to IDW: Fort Max was the warden of the prison ship Garrus-9, but was defeated 5 years ago in that story by Overlord, who in Fortress Maximus's own words, "redefined the meaning of powerful".

I remember him in Lost Light being so shaken by Overlord that he pretty much went insane and nearly killed everyone around him.

In the comics, Fort Max is a prison warden who by the time Lost Light rolls around, is suffering from major ptsd for one reason. He had the misfortune of running across Overlord.

ya but,remember that he transforms into not 2 modes,not three modes,but 7 modes and most of his modes aren't vehicles and if perfect effect did do the not partforming thing,it will probably doube or even triple the price of the toy and it will not look as impresive in his other modes because he has to transform into 7 different modes

So much stuff, so many options to choose from, lots of posability and he can serve as an upgrade for G1 Fort Max is great! Figures like this are treasures for a collector or just regular transformer fans all around. I love it and most likely will get him when I get the chance. Funny thing is, the “brick of stuff on tank treads” is probably one of the cleanest non-earth-based vehicle modes I’ve seen. Everything looks to compact together oh so nicely.

5:20 that picture shows two pegs. One is with circular top and comes before the red, triangle shaped peg, while on a figure, it's the other way around. So it's not only about the length of a peg but their order as well...

This was a great idea to create this so many G1 Fortess Maximus's with missing heads floating around. The cost of a G1 Maximus head used is around the price of this on Ebay anyways. Great idea again!

Great review fellow collector. I am a big fan of Warden and he displays fantastic. Perfect Effect went from ( almost ) irrelevant back to a contender and is built to last no doubt. This is like a line of figures I want to make called parts. It’s a 3rd party transformers figure series where all the transformation is parts forming. Want to make Optimus a truck? Rip his limbs off and tab his head between the place the arms go! I could only really do G1 and maybe some of The Bumblebee Movie.

I don't mind sensible parts forming, like guns, weapons, shields being detachable, but this model has so very much parts forming it feels more like a model kit than a toy. Not that that's bad, I just prefer my transformers being as one piece as possible, makes the transform that much more fun.
