IF you are using a conversion LUT I am not sure the Zebras at 94 rule still applies - I think the Zebras are (unfortunately) applied post-LUT conversion (this should be an adjustable setting - but not in Sony cameras....). So if you are using a Rec 709 conversion LUT I believe the Zebras can be set back to 99 (or 100) to show you where you are going to clip in the final image.

Yes, I am wondering when people talking about 94, if they have their lut on when they are shooting, which might cause the shot to somehow underexpose. Or, they may not use Lut at all?

I agree with the 99, I tried it without lut, and set it below the zebra 94, then used a rec lut 709 and raised the zebra until it disappeared, and it stopped at 99, Without clipping. Sorry if my English is bad, I just use a translator app.😂

@@thatguybgreen Exposing to the right is really about controlling noise in the shadows. Modern cameras, including the fx30, are very cleaning if they aren’t under exposed. So in my experience it isn’t necessary. By exposing “normally” you can get an extra stop or two of highlight detail. Some of it comes down to personal preference and how much noise you can tolerate and in what situations but I’ve had good results without exposing to the right.
