At 20yo I was in the Middle East in one of the most dangerous places in the world at the time. We were trying to stabilize a region while building schools and keeping the population safe from really bad humans. We all contribute in different ways, you are crushing it with this KZbin thing and to be honest you look 22 at most. I’m surrounded by college students 5 days a week, you don’t look any older than 95% of them. Do you thing and don’t address the haters, they will only increase in the comments and attract others.

Very true. In my experience, especially men's fragrances, are very versatile for age, more-so than probably even ties. Way easier to pull off a younger vibe or older one. Also, the age comments are ridiculous you defo look around your age. I'm 20 as well and I would've guessed you're 19-22.

I don't think the people who commented on your age meant that your exterior, your face, your skin, look older. I've read that comment section as well and since I knew where they were coming from, I understood everything as a compliment towards you. You look so passionate, have such a radiating warmth of heart that can even be felt in front of the camera, you are so articulate and seem so mature and at a place in your life where you strive for better but already look back at accomplishments, you seem like someone who has already reached something in life and therefore has a calm pride - these qualities aren't that often possessed by 20-year-olds. Often they seem less mature, more desperate, less articulate and have that vibe of still searching, still striving without having reached anything of value for them, they just seem less mature and more lost than you are (without looking down on that) . That you radiate the confidence and warmth and wisdom of someone who has found their place in life and has achieved important goals already does not mean that you look old, it doesn't even mean that you are in that place in your life already, but it apparently convinced many of your viewers that you were already older, since usually thirty-year olds have worked their way out of much immaturity and insecurity and begin to radiate that. If I had gotten such comments I would have probably been hurt too, but as someone with a little distance I have to say that at least all the comments I've read were nothing you should take to heart with a negative feeling and rather with pride, since it's not your looks but your demeanor and aura that convinced people that you are at a place in your life that many people reach later in their lives. Loved the video and I totally agree about Mon Guerlain, I've always felt that that's how an elegant wife smells.

Some people just have a baby face and act childish so people mistake them for 20 even though they're 30 (plus, even though they have wrinkles and dehydrated skin for example). being a guy in my 30's, my most commonly used fragrances are - Layton / ADG profomo - Parfums Vintage pineapple vintage intense / Emperor Extrait (recent purhcase but serves the same purposes, PVI still seems to get more notice/comments/compliments) - Versace Pour Homme / Bulgari Aqva amara / GIT those cover just about all occasions / time of the year I own quite a few others but if I had to narrow it down a bit, those would be my keepers.

I can totally understand how it would make you feel to hear people saying you look 30. I think what they mean is that you look mature (in a good way!). You seem very lady-like and the way you carry yourself and how you talk...usually women who are more mature have this confident, very feminine vibe. I think many women (me included when I was younger!) in their twenties tend to dress too youthful sometimes (i.e. like a teenager)...so perhaps that is why people see you as being "older". In a way its actually a massive compliment! You def don't look old and you have gorgeous skin and are very beautiful, so please don't take those comments the wrong way :) Anyway that's just my take on it :)

I look 20 and I am 30, and it's worse to be mistaken as younger. Nobody takes me seriously, and I'm always interrupted or underestimated. Even when I try to present myself as maturely as possible. Aww Demi don't let the age comments get you down. I find personally that without makeup, you definitely look perfectly your age. Youth is on your side, so the more makeup you wear, the closer you look to that 25. Younger women look a bit older/grown up with makeup on vs fresh faced, and the converse tends to be true as the decades go up. This was a fun video. I'm in my early 30's so this video is my decade. The choices for ladies was fun but I'm more curious to sniff the men's perfumes since I don't have much knowledge on cologne. :)

My first impression of you was not your age but your persona. I can tell that you are young but the reason that I kept coming back to your video and listen to your advice and recommendation is the fact that you are someone that has charisma in the sense that you make people want to hear what you say, you know your stuff, and you are confident in a not aggressive way. Hi Demi, As far as the comments about your age; I didn't see them, but I would imagine a lot of people thought you were 30 because of your level of maturity and knowledge of fragrances. The way you present yourself, your dress, and makeup, don't come across as a 20 year-old. I wouldn't be offended, I think it's actually a compliment. 30 is very young - you probably don't see it that way because you are much younger and feel that 30 is kind of a big number. But, it's really not. I remember my 30's as being the best time of my life. When your in your thirties, your still young enough, but you've been around a bit and have matured. Every decade has its advantages and disadvantages. Now, according to fragrance - I, personally, would divide it into three age groups (generally speaking) - teens, twenties and thirties+. This is coming from a 58 year-old, so I think people in my age group may agree. I wear Mon Guerlain all the time, its one of my favorite scents. I also love some sweeter, fruity scents, and then I love some more mature and niche scents too. Some that I wear are, La vie est Belle; Decadence; Delina; the Chanels; and a lot more that you put in your 30s list. To be honest, fragrance really doesn't have an age, as it also does not have a gender. You should wear what you like! When you were describing women and men in their thirties, I felt like it could have easily applied to people in their 40s, 50s +. It is fun to hear about the fragrances that you imagine for different age groups, but I felt a little bad thinking I am wearing fragrances that are too young for me 😞. Anyway, I love your videos and the way you describe fragrances - you get me excited about trying new things.. I just purchased Layton for my husband (and he's 58)! You are WAY more pulled together/well spoken/mature and successful than almost everyone else in their 20s which is probably why people said that. I'm in my 30s and no, you definitely look like you are in your early 20s.

Hi dear, just want to say I understand where your coming from when you felt a bit offended by the 30 year old comments. I'm 25 but I constantly get told I look 19, which is true I naturally have young looking facial features and it use to bother me that I could never look my age. I know being 20 years old and being told you look 30 seems like an insult in a way, but to be honest I use to think 30 was like boarder line of "starting to get old", but now that I'm 25 and my 30s aren't that far away I've realized that at 30 you are still beautiful, you are still young! Think of your 30s as your 20s but smarter and more together in life LOL. So I guess I'm saying, take 30 as a compliment of maturity and that you look well put together and sure of your self. Not getting old dear :)

Aww girl, you’re so gorgeous and you look amazing. As someone in their late 20s, I’d say it’s not that you LOOK old. You’re extremely refined and have unusually elegant taste for your age... so much so, that I trust & value your recommendations - even as I head towards my 30s (and my mom is in her 60s - she ended up buying a bottle of BR540 bc of you saying we’d love it [ps. she’s obsessed with it lol). That kinda refinement isn’t something really associated with women in their younger 20s, it’s something that comes with maturity & experience... so it tends to make us assume you’re a lot older than what you actually are. That’s truly something to be so proud of, bc I was a COMPLETE dankhead when I was closer to your age lol And LASTLY, as someone who graduated from school for skincare, I can tell you take great care of yours (good on you for starting so early) - and I can assure you that even if you may look “mature” for your age currently, it’ll balance out & you’ll end up looking a LOT younger as you get older if you stay on top of your skin (esp. utilizing active ingredients like Vitamin C, Retinol, Exfoliants, & Sunscreen). The internet can be a tough place, and ppl can be so unknowingly harsh... but look at it as THEIR incompetence and not your own. Not everyone is tactful and well-versed in communication (and some ppl might even be jealous & feel triggered to wanna “knock you down a peg” just to feel better than you), but that’s not your problem. When I was 20 ppl used to think I was 27, bc of my bone structure, height and mannerisms. I also looked 20 when I was 12. Now I’m 30 and I’ve been getting younger guesses since I was 27. 😅 it gets better hun :) I was shocked by your age mostly due to your expertise in scents! I know very little about scents even at 30 😅

Hi Demi Rawling. I am in my 30s but there are many of high school aged and very early 20s people on KZbin. They don't mean to be offensive but their interpersonal skills may not have developed yet. Even if you did look 30 that isn't a bad thing. it probably means that you have a more defined face and that you are well spoken. You just seem very mature for your age (when I was 20 I was clueless about life). BTW I bought Pacific Rock Moss due to your recommendation and it smells nice but I don't find it amazing (no offence haha).

I never really want to smell like vanilla in anyway, maybe its just me, but the “vanilla smell” is a club/kid scent in my world. Gonna try the Bentley, but i think maybe you should try Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, thats for me is the perfect 30/40/50 scent. Oh and I’m 34 years old.

I have four of the five women's fragrances. The only one I don't have is the Christian Dior "La Colle Noire" and I am actually in my 30s. I have had . Christian Dior "Addict" since graduating from college and "Coco Noir" when it was released in my later 20s. I got Mon Guerlain and Noir Pour Femme when they were released in my early/mid 30s.

Demi, I haven't seen those comments, but it is definitely not that "you look old" or something. It is more like that people don't expect from a girl in her 20's to talk smart and mature like you do. You don't have that hentai cuteness factor what guys expect lol :D you also have a very confident voice, dress up classy, so I think that's it. If you'd go for pink jumpers and less make-up, people would guess you're 16...
