I finally bought one; the cafe. I have had it for 5 months now. Its my 5th bike and my 3rd Kawasaki. I still own my 4th bike, a HD V Rod. The Harley was hand s down my favorite bike. I spent years looking at the W800 and testing it and its competitors: RE 650, triumph 900 Bonnie/thruxton; the Harley Roadster. Ultimately, I went with the W800, and I have been very impressed with it: the fit and finish, the balance and nimbleness, and the feel and sound. I have been shocked how much I love it and how I struggle to determine which is really my favorite bike now. Kawasaki has always made great bikes; bikes and engines I love. They really knocked it out he park with the W800 in all its forms. If you want a classic/retro bike, you need to test ride one of these.

Love your videos, mate! Just perfect start of the day watching your video while waiting for spring and touring on my MTS 1260. Nostalgia, for me, would be to own and be friends again with my first real motorbike, Moto Guzzi Griso 850. What a bike, was that. I guess I love Italian bikes 😀

Thank you so much! I love it! Would be amazing wouldn't it, to get a single day back in time to re-experience the early days with our old friends. My first big bike was a 1972 BMW R75/5 - I love the swooping lines of the 850 Griso, with the engine being a stressed member of the frame, very cool looking bike!

This was almost a meditation ! I can really connect to what you're saying. The need for speed is long gone for me and less is more is the way I went. I recently bought a RE classic 350, coming from a BMW GS 1200 / Tenere 700 / Himalyan 410 What a revelation this bike was for me. The feel I have on this is what you describe in your VID.... Pure therapy 🙂 I never sold a bike when I changed, so the garage is filling up. But I am selling this year and keeping the Classic for sure... and maybe a new one. The W800... what a beauty✨

Thank you so very much for commenting!!! I love the styling of the Royal Enfield line. I'm a firm believer in it's way more fun to ride a 'slow' bike 'fast' than ride a fast bike slow. I highly recommend the W800 as a pure therapy motorcycle! She's a dream!

I do my riding on different bikes, a 2003 Harley Sportster 883, a 1997 Honda Pacific Coast, and a vintage 1980 Honda CB750F, but I can totally relate to this video and the things that you shared. I had a near fatal deer/motorcycle collision (traumatic brain injury) on my Sportster in 2014. I was blessed by GOD to have come back to virtually 100% recovery. I went back to riding in 2015 and now just totally LOVE the rides I take no matter where I am going. The Sportster still lives just as I do.

Holy moly on your collision!!! I had a serious wreck in 1989 (hit by a Jeep Cherokee) - same (traumatic brain injury) bike (1972 BMW R75/5) was totaled in the wreck, didn't buy another bike (but did borrow friend's bikes occasionally) until 1997... I completely relate. I had a fawn graze summer of 2022.... just knocked him out and we didn't get tangled up... glad you remain among the living!

I am 49 years old and own the 2020 cafe version. I also own the Concours. If I had to pick my favorite to ride of all time? It's this Café. Such an experience and love every time I put a leg over her. I felt that love for my bike when I played this video. Just don't like chrome. As I don't have a garage, how do you clean the spoke rims and keep them clean and easy?

Thank you so much for commenting, very well said! I'm one of those who would rather ride than clean, we do have an electric power washer that helps alot with the spoked wheels, but every once in a while, need to break out the toothbrush and give her a good scrub, then polish the chrome.

Another great video! but it is not completely accurate :) The W is not just about nostalgia. I am in my mid 30s, the w800 was my 2nd bike, or my first big bike, and it is a great motorcycle even today. It takes you to places in a moderate pace, you will not be late to anything. You can easily do all the maintenance yourself following the workshop manual, even if you are a new ametuer mechanic with 0 experience. And it relaxes and meditates your soul everytime you ride it. Heck, even when you look at it, with its calm beauty. And I could look at it for days!

Pick up a W650, same HP with carbs, cheaper.

Can probably get one for a bargain too! Should be thorough in your evaluation, not only carbs instead of fuel injection, but some W650s come with a drum rear brake instead of discs on front and rear. Fantastic machines, over engineered and understressed beautiful bevel drive cam motors!
