Awesome technique. The slimline card is my favorite. The perfect pearls just pop against the black. Cutting down the paper to fit the stencil is a great idea.

@Simon Hurley • I wish you would think about at least including pictures of your finished cards in your link because when you do 4, I tend to only remember 1. I end up doing a screen capture of each card, editing it, putting it in my electronic notes then adding notes on how the card was made. Your notes, of course, would be more helpful. To give you an example of what I mean, I've included my notes on this video below. Please be kind when you read them because they are only jogs for my memory, not instructions for anyone else. • Background flower stamp with Versamark ink. • Apply individual colors of Perfect Pearls (excess cannot be returned to jar.) • Tamp (pounce) Perfect Pearls in • Fan brush off excess • Mist with water • Heat set • Background & heart use the same stamp • Heart is made by using the foam heat up stamp and pressing it on the flower image then stamping on black background with the Versamark ink. As you can see from the background, the flower is an outline that would not leave much room for the Perfect Pearls. By impressing the stamp on the foam, the lines are now indents and the Versamark ink will hold the Perfect Pearls on the solid parts. • Perfect Pearls technique is same as above. • Uses 3 part stencil • Paper is cut to same size as stencil to make matching easy. • Perfect Pearls is applied to each part separately and heat set • Fussy cut around edge • Flower stamp is an outline* so use embossing ink • Apply embossing powder • Heat set • Color is applied using watercolor so dampen paper before applying color so they will blend • Embossed outline will keep colors from bleeding into another area. • Once the watercolors are dry (heat gun or natural), use an embossing pen to add areas to take Perfect Pearls. Do petals first, then leaves, then stem, setting each before moving on to the next. • Fussy cut half of flower • Tone-on-tone emboss colored background • Apply to front of card with flower & sentiment. * Since this is an outline stamp, you could use it in the same way as the heart foam stamp.

Beautiful cards! I've used Perfect Pearls for years, but never heard of "pouncing in" them. Thank you! That should help keep them on the card! I have to try your method. Another cool design was the cutting out of half of the flower and placing it on colored cardstock. It really stands out!

Simon-I’ve never used the Perfect Pearls so my question is when you are brushing it on and it is a different color, do you have to be careful so the colors don’t blend?
@simon.hurley2 жыл бұрын
I like when the colors blend, but once a color is stuck to the ink you shouldn’t be too worried about another color sticking there. :)
@Oldcupcake642 жыл бұрын
@@simon.hurley I like when they blend too but I was thinking of those times when you don’t want it to. I’m learning and shopping a lot from your videos!

can i please ask simon wwhen using these pearls. why do u do a little bit then dip back in to the pot again for bit more when clearly there is a little of the powder left on the side that could be brushed back over another bit needing to be coloured. and pressed over it again to colour it. as u then go and brush it all away. which seems to be wasteful. could u brush the excess powder onto another design on a piece of card adn have mixed pearls to colour the othe rcard with the excess powder from the original. this way it woudl maybe mixed pearls but woudl nt just get brushed away it would be used.
