Marquis Hill eh I don't mind it, especially since that's the general nature of mortal combat, is supposed to be a gorey/cartoonish fighter. The animation style now matches the past decade of iterations of the series. My problem with Capcom is that it's stiff in 3d animation but it was smoother with 2d animation and it's obvious why, because they wanted to reduce costs that goes into 2d sprite animation and it's sad.

Keon Gardner I wouldn’t say reduce costs, but rather reduce labor, since it takes a hell of a lot of time to 2D animate ONE character, let alone a whole roster. Too much attention to detail for a generation that wouldn’t even appreciate 2D hand drawn graphics these days.. Also SF3 sold terribly when it launched so I can see why Capcom would be scared to take another risk like that again.

To me, sprite work like on this game always looks a billion times better than the full models in SF4 - Infinite. They just have so much more character and charm. Does anyone else feel this way?

The backgrounds of each stage in the street fighter franchise has always been the initial appeal for me. The little details in the background are the best in any fighting game. But I also believe MVC2/street fighter third strike esc sprites are superior to 3D models. Imagine MK11 with Third Strike’s sprites for the characters. I’m somehow more interested to see that.

I think the reason people prefer the older games is because these were made around the time when pixel animation was reaching its prime. After doing pixel animation for so long, the animators became good at what they did and were able to make very visually appealing sprites. Sf4 was created not too long after the 3D animation medium really started to get popular, therefore the 3D SF animators weren’t as experienced as the 2D SF animators, and that was reflected in the “character” of the game.

Capcom somehow fails to see they were one of the best, if not the best 2D animators and can't hold a candle to that same skill in 3D today... The little neat animations they added to stages is lost in the 3D environments to me.

The way I can tell that this game is really good is that I get hype for both players doing cool stuff. Like when Max got stunned by the Alex I was actually pretty hype. But when Max did some hard punishes on the same Alex I was even more hype. Such a good game

The Round 3 themes is something I'm gonna miss in the 30th Anniversary Collection since they are using the Arcade version of 3rd Strike. Round 3 themes made the stage themes feel more *complete* since the 3rd round sounded like it was the "Final Round" (unless you alter Round settings, then Round 3 is likely your last round). Just a personal thing though. I don't know if people agree with me or not. I always did prefer the Console touchups on the 3rd Strike soundtrack since it was cleaner and the addition of a 3rd round theme instead of just a Round 1+2 theme.

Alex McNeill I like both the arcade Soundtrack and the Arranged Soundtrack. It's a shame we aren't going to see the Arranged one in the new collection, I just hope this isn't the last we see from the SFIII series and all the console content. Online Edition was decent but it had some weird inaccuracies like Twelve's copy ability voice not having the "twelve" voice filter.

Este es el mejor Street Fighter de todos y el más infravalorado, todo porque cuando salió acababa de ponerse de moda los juegos en 3D y por eso la gente lo ninguneó.
