The options for plugins these days are mind boggling. Did anyone suddenly feel the urge to buy one they saw here? I know I did. But, I then realized... I have a sht ton of alternative options that are equally lauded by others. The lesson? I dunno. Keep cool?

Are you referring to the SSL Native Bus Compressor 2? Very good bus compressor, indeed! SSL had previous versions of their bus compressor (going back to the Duende days), but the Bus Compressor 2 is SSL's best version to date (in my opinion). It even includes a selection of oversampling. 👍

I don’t necessarily disagree however, different styles of music require different treatments. I think for the first and 3rd tracks you don’t want the level of sheen that works so well for the 2nd and is definitely Marc’s style. That said… MDN is an absolute legend.

What's with the audio pops throughout Marc Nelson's segment? Good info though! Would you say the trick with the Ampex and the API eq works the same if you are using the same eq type on the UA API Vision Strip, too?

I met you once, in London back in the day. Are you not bored of this. Sure, there aint enough money to spread in the arts, but this? Your a salesman promoting anything that will make you money, and your examples to project that are very poor. If your looking for the next big thing to work with, this will make that only a distant dream. I think your better than that.

@westerngumby367111 ай бұрын
Even though this video is about "mixbus": processing, the three engineers are not going thorough a mixbus but thorough master fader. It is my understanding that the difference between Mixbus and master fader is that mixbus inserts are pre fader and master fader the inserts are post fader. Also have read on the interweb somewhere the compressors should always be put on mixbus with pre fader sends so fader movements do not effect how hard the compressor is hit.
@kieranniemand293911 ай бұрын
Wut 😂
@Paulnap11 ай бұрын
That's technically correct. Mixbus stands just as "the whole mix goes through this channel" I supose.
@kristianmarschewski159011 ай бұрын
the Mixbus is the group channel for every subgroup and all the multitracks. the Master fader controlls the output. it makes more sense to route the mix through the mixbus, because often you have rafferance/guidetracks in your session, and you dont want to apply the same processing to your referances, you do to your mix.
