Waow ! I’am over looking Mike Austin’s videos since 2008 and I am just realizing seeing this video why I never was able to perform an effortless and consistent swing !! Truth hurts. But I hereby want to thank you guys for this terrific explanation. Sincere congratulations from Paris. Keep on !

the use of the hula hoop that way is an eye opener. the wrong way you can really see it and if the other way if it works looks like a great action. i've looked at the mike austin videos but could not do his motion but this might help, really simplifies the idea. i gotta try this. thnx, steve.

Steve, thanks for this drill. I have been doing it for regularly for over a week and without doubt is one of the most effective drills ever. Once you get the Mike Austin pivot, using the hula hoop helps reinforce as Mike says the spine stretch with the side tilt. So, so effective for a powerful strike. Thanks again for your good work. This drill will be a regular part of my daily exercise programme.

This is fasinating. MAlakes me think about the "bad" swings (modern idelogy) that I make that have great results and that I suspect those swings more inline with Mike Austens ideas.

That was an eye opener ~ Fan of Mike A as to how good he hit even into his senior years ~ the famous drive at 64 years ~ great explanation and you got a new subscriber......👍👍👍

Planeswing solves all of this. Then you can just practice feels and master the feedback yourself. This is a cool concept.

There seems to be a contradiction in the video coaching points#6 rotary swing. It’s seems to be showing the swing braking the axis of the wheel. Please explain.

@@johnmusachia466 I don't subscribe to a rotating plane, and Austin had Dunaway doing the hula hoop the right way without rotation. Your best bet.
@dentfix5 жыл бұрын
Does this contradict what Mike Dunaway was showing in his Rotating Plane video? (the one where it's only him). The video with Dunaway and Austin seems like what you are explaining here. I've picked up so much more speed with this method. It's crazy!
@Inmotion705 жыл бұрын
Yes I had never heard of the rotating plane deal until then. In Austinology they clearly show the hoop staying in line.

@@Inmotion70 in the Mike dunaway rotating plane video he mentions that as the chest turns in the back swing, he has to break the plane or his head would turn, and the. As he goes down, he reconnects with the plane. I am confused! Please help me understand!!

so do you guys actually swing like that? i've tried the hula hoop drill and to move it on that plane it feels kinda like the stack and tilt move which i use sometimes. watching jerry swing with the hoop i can see the moves of mike austin in the skeleton suit video. that swing to me feels more centered and upright with the right elbow wound up and the swing plane more along the target line. i gotta try this hitting a ball cause in a static air swing it feels so right.

We try to but of course put a ball in the way and we all have our tendencies.

Do you think you need hula hoop to practice
@Inmotion705 жыл бұрын
It's more of a visual aid but yes you could check your move once in awhile with the hoop to get the motion down precisely!
