Perfecting Kydex Retention!!!

Here’s a quick video about how to get the best kydex retention. I’m not teaching how to make a sheath cause there is already a ton of videos on that. This is specifically talking about retention of kydex to get that nice “snap” every time! Let me know if you learned something!

Good stuff, watched a lot of Kydex sheets and just started 2 weeks ago. That was a good hint! I would have a question, how do you prevent ratteling whilst still giving the blade enough room?

2 layers of painters tape on each side of the blade. Trim the tape with a razor blade

Do you ever get scratches on your blades from the kydex

If you clean out the sheath really good then its definitely a possibility that it will scratch the blade!!!

Kydex cannot scratch hardened steel. Grit that gets into the sheath can and will scratch a blade tho and it can also impregnate itself into the kydex and be tricky to remove.
