What about being somewhere in the middle? I choke up slightly because I feel like I have much more touch on drops as well as quicker hands.

More touch definitely, but you give up too much in my opinion. Holding the top or middle of the grip is a crutch IMHO

Tbh I think a lot of it is also personal preference. The higher you are the faster your hands will be definitely and that can be a bonus, with that speed you can actually get extra power on certain shots like a punch volley. Yeah you lose reach which is definitely important especially in the men’s game, but maybe you can just get really good at off the bounce attacks. I mean ALW mainly attacks off the bounce and she can contend with a lot men in mixed.
