Symbolism: Having experienced significant insomnia since the age of 10, I’ve heard an assortment of suggestions to “cure” this affliction throughout my life, but a few come up more often than others: Don’t drink caffeine, take a warm bath at night, don’t watch the clock, and read a good book at bedtime.
You may notice a repeat of items such as coffee cups, hourglasses, and books strewn about the build as a slight poke at this “advice.” Chronic insomnia is not a simple matter of caffeine intake or staring at the time. It’s far more insidious.
