Just FYI, I know this guy and he not only knows his drinks and an awesome flair bartender, just like all the guys at Carnaval Court, but these guys put out that much energy and keeps going like this at least 8 hours a day 5 days a week. I got nothing but respect for most of these guys.

8 hourse and 5 days a week .. sounds like real bartender ..... not really

All these people going to watch flair bartending videos, just to complain about "just give me my drink already." We get it. The joke has been made plenty of times.. You are watching a video on flair bartending. That means you're going to see flair bartending. That's like despising rap, watching an Eminem music video, and complaining about how terrible rap is.. Just don't waste your time.

As an old craggy ( but of course good-humoured ) bartender myself boy do I hear ya! In the OLD days when I first bartended, ( back in the early 70's ) being REALLY quick and really on top of it made it LOOK like it was flashy. And then this movie 'Cocktail' came out and created monsters. The only time I flipped anything like someone in a circus is when there are just a handful of customers and it's good for a laugh now and then. Leave the dog and pony show for the dogs and the ponies!

Flairing does not make you a good bartender. He do have skills but i dont think the drinks are something to compare to a well done drink. If you are a bartender and reading this and been working for a better bar and with real cocktails then you know what im talking about. I cant flair like him and i dont want to flair. But i do some world class drinks.
@jcurse96543 ай бұрын
World class cocktail wouldn't be matter compared to the ones can flair. There are two bartenders *Flairtender *Mixology And mixology boring as fk, no entertainment no anything

flair bartending is for clowns and jokers, the best bartending is the elegant mixology...
@ciaranac10 жыл бұрын
100% agree, coming from a cocktail bartender the consumer is more interested in the actual drink being made to perfection and not watching a circus act with a crazy messy man with money stuck to his head to remind everyone to give him money, but it is vegas after all
@internetmarketingtim10 жыл бұрын
ciaranac I know quite a bit about the bar and club industry. And I will say that a good portion of people could care less what their drink taste like so long as it is somewhat palatable and strong. Now if you were to be working a high end bar then I would agree that the people that are frequenting that place are a whole other mix of customers who are more than happy to pay premium prices for a premium cocktail. There is a reason that place like Vegas have flair bartenders working that particular bar and it is because the people there are just wanting to go there get drunk and have fun and that is exactly the atmosphere they create. It takes just as much skill to learn to do flair bartending as it does to become a mixologist. Both are talented, but are catering to two different crowds. So it is completely ridiculous if either were to criticize the other as it is truly relative to which consumer you're trying to go to your bar.
@ciaranac10 жыл бұрын
I run my own cocktail bar and it seriously matters to my customers what the drinks taste like. The correct glasses, garnish, presentation etc. From a clubs perspective, you could feed half of them petrol, so I see your point there, but in the end its all about the setting you work in
@antonhaatyla426710 жыл бұрын
yeah but this ain't a cocktailbar, flairing is about entertaining in a high energy occasion, it has nothing with drink quality to do, it's about spreading joy, energy and entertainment to your guests.
@internetmarketingtim10 жыл бұрын
ciaranac What you just said is what I pretty much said in my previous comment (Not sure if you read my full comment or not, but if not go back and read it and I think you'll see that we're on the same page). Typically cocktail bars and something like a private casino lounge are catering for the most part to people in their mid to late 20's all the way up to their 40's and who in general have more disposable income and are more then willing to pay a premium price for a premium drink made by someone like a mixologist. However on the other end of things there are places like the local sports bar or places like a casino bar where the people there are just looking for the strongest drink possible that is somewhat palatable. They don't care whether you're making their drink with McCormick vodka or Ciroc. And... They would much rather have a flair bartender who entertains them and creates an overall fun and energetic atmosphere over a mixologist who would no doubt make a better tasting drink. But to say that one is superior to the other is just plain silly, as it is subjective depending upon the customer you are targeting. As I previously said, both a mixologist (And I'm referring to the mixologist out there that are making a drink that requires 16 different ingredients, not the average bartender making a Cape Cod) and a flair bartender require skill, but with that said it is much easier to learn mixology than it is to learn flair bartending or at least to be able to flair as well as someone like Alexander Shtifanov. So there is no need for Ricardo Vargas to get on here and insult another style of bartending like he is superior to them.
