I had a similar experience. I am a Hindu with 3 degrees in USA. Once I was traveling from Delhi to US, and I had a stop layover for few hours in Doha, Qatar. I found a row of empty recliner seats, put on my eye cover to rest to adjust for jet lag. One Muslim man came to me, wake me up, and ask me are you flying business class or economy class. I told him economy class, then he told me to get up and leave, this is for business class. Now, there was no signs on the Airport, and I told him the business class/economy class seats are inside the airplane and not on the airport. He called one officer, and he just told me yes. I didn't wanted to get in trouble in Qatar, so I moved to a regular seat with hand rails on the Airport.
