Performance by students of Tashi Namgyal Academy, in Barnes School & Junior College

Students of Tashi Namgyal Academy, Gangtok - Sikkim visit Barnes Barnes School & Junior College, Devlali.
The second phase of the Barnes School and Junior College Student Exchange Program with Tashi Namgyal School, Gangtok-Sikkim began with the arrival of 33 students and 2 staff members at Barnes School & Junior College, Devlali on the evening of December 09, 2022. They were warmly welcomed on the campus by the students who had been to Sikkim during the first phase, the Head Boy, Head Girl, Vice Head Boy and Vice Head Girl.
A plethora of activities studded the week-long stay of the students and it began with a visit to the famous Trimbakeshwar Temple, which is situated at the foothills of the Bramhamagiri Hills at a height of 3000 feet above sea level. The trek was tedious yet spiritually fulfilling.
People around the world are being encouraged to use renewable sources of energy and so after a sumptuous Sunday breakfast at the Barnes school Mess the students were taken on trip to the windmills located on the way to Sinnar. However, the trip was preceded with a visit to the Taket Jatayu Mandir, one of the religious places believed to be a meeting place of seven holy river called teertha. Upon their return the students were taken to Vishramgadh fort know as Patta-Killa - Located at a height of 1392 m, the Patta Fort is the place where once Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj came for rest.
Monday, December 12, 2022, introduced the students of Tashi Namgyal to the academic life at Barnes School as they attended lectures and followed the schedules. After lunch they were taken on a shopping spree to City Centre Mall, which they most certainly appreciated and were back at the school campus, in time for dinner.
In the next two consecutive days that followed, the students attended and participated in scheduled Inter house competitions that included debates, Mathelitics, Mad Ads, On Screen battles, elocution and dance competitions. The TNA students mesmerized the audience with their grace, charisma and colourful costumes and secured the first position in the Folk Dance Competition. Supper at Barbeque Nation at City Centre Mall brought that day to a close.
The following day, December 15, 2022, the students participated in a friendly basketball as well as a football match against the Barnes School teams, exhibiting great coordination, team work and enthusiasm. In the evening, the students of Tashi Namgyal Academy gathered in the iconic Evans Hall for the socials where they enjoyed interacting with the boarders of Barnes in a more informal atmosphere, forging new bonds of friendship and strengthening the old ones.
On the 16th December, the day of the departure of the Tashi Namgyal students, the students and the staff were felicitated during the morning assembly. Thereafter, they bid adieus to Barnes School to board the train to Sikkim, at Nashik Road, taking with them loads of pleasant experiences and fond memories of interacting with students and staff of a different school with different cultural backgrounds.
