I assume that this comes with summer performance tires? What kind of tires are you using for the winter? I’m in Wisconsin and would be using this all year so I’d like to at least have all-seasons on it.

Yes it should come with performance summer tires! I tested on winter tires I forget now what brand they were but they were for sure full winter. All season tries in the winter are not allowed where I live

I feel like I would use Apple Carplay 99% of the time. Dont think the infotainment would be such a dealbreaker for me

I did use Apple CarPlay all the time too the fact that it was wireless made it effortless! I think the problem a lot of people are having is that when you want adjust your climate or turn your heated seats on you have to use the infotainment there’s no buttons for it! Definitely not a dealbreaker for me either!

This is my 6th hot hatches and by far the best of the bunch. Faster than Typer R, more comfortable than Focus RS and more luxurious than GR Corolla. In addition, 10k less than Audi S3, 20k less than Audi TTs.

When you reviewed and drove this 2023, what tires were on it? The stock Summer tires?

The Tires were Stock Winter tires since in Quebec it is mandatory to have winters during the winter

OK. It seems to have slid very easily, but then again, having 315 hp can basically negate the fact of having snow tires or not going around corners.

@@shaglioni I had it in drift mode to make it slide like that! it sends as much power possible to the rear and turns off traction control really fun mode!

I would get one in white and replace the spoiler with the 2022-23 GTI spoiler never been into big wings

This was filmed just off the island of Montreal so yes it handled things better than I expected in Montreal ride was pretty good

You bet I would buy a Golf R, If only they would sellV it at the VW suggested retail 0f $47500 US dollars. I don’t know if I can wait long enough to escape the gouging.

What do you consider average height? I’ve seen reviews of people 6’0 with more room in the back seats. Seems like you have your seat and back rest really far back. It’s kinda misleading

Average high is probably 5'6 - 5'8 i am 5'11 of course if you move the front seats up it will give you a bit more room in the back but I was showing what it looks like with my driver profile. The way the seat was how i would set it to be comfortable if i were to own it so it would give the people behind me less room.

I'm sure most people don't care... But, I am so disappointed that we don't have the cloth seat design available in the US. They have so much more style than the plain black leather.

2023 specs same as 2022 specs but price rose $2,500 CAD and waiting list is still 1.5 years. SMH

yepp great car, i dont think its a real hot hatch anymore because it feels to safe. like a 7r with some adjustments feels more like a rs3 or amg would feel like. but i love the car its amazing and modern😀

Quebec's roads and potholes don't allow you to enjoy a car like this. Trust me, i had a 2019 golf r and it cost me literally a couple of mag repairs and tires every year.

I believe it! Would have liked to drive this one in the summer so I could push a bit more without being afraid of wrapping the car around a tree! I recently had to have my bearing changed thanks to one of the potholes.

I live in Montreal and my order of a golf R is coming on November, I also worry with the potholes, I guess if I get it in November I should already put winter tires? You think I can ask the dealership to install me winter tires or will they charge me for installation
