@@chrxstxnx true, everyone cares too much about there looks on stage, even Seonghwa admitted that he cared too, that's why he tried not to put too much much effort in his dance so that he could look good for his ending fairy scene, but he regretted it so much so from that day on he promised to always give his 100% and now is apart of the demon line😌👑 but seriously they don't care about looking like prince's! Wooyoung's CHARISMA is no joke. A performer needs to captivate the audience and its really hard to do but his facial expressions + his flawless moves increases people's interest. The meaning of the disciplined and restrained sexcness is what he portrays here and sometimes people do go over the top tryna hip thrusts and grind on the floor but he can ooze out sexcness and charisma just through his gaze thats what i find really rare in the kpop industry.

All the growth he has had is incredible, he went from having a stage fright and fear of being in front of the cameras to being one of the best performers out there, his facial expressions are always on point and the way in which he controls his body at the same time to dance is very satisfying. And the best of all is that he has achieved it with his own effort, practicing without stopping and always looking for a way to improve. Undoubtedly, an example to follow. A true stage genius.

6:22 *I'm gonna go to the original video just to take a screenshot of that particular clip with Wooyoung's amazing body line and make it my wallpaper. No questions asked* And I really appreciate you talking about people's pre conceived false notion about dancing being gay (especially ballet) because it is a form of art and everyone has different ways of expressing it. No one should be taunted for doing what they love just because of these kind of stigmas associated with them. Also like you said, to me a really, really talented dancer will be able to mix in the masculine and feminine ways of dancing and do it in a pretty effortless manner. Such dancers are so mesmerizing to watch.(Perfect example I can think of at the moment aside from Taemin, is Sean lew)

The fact that Wooyoung delivered such a sensual and sexy concept and choreo without any of the "usual" moves like hip thrusts. Wooyoung said that he would like it if we see this performance as his growth, and that's exactly what we can see. He has developed himself so much that it's noticeable all the efforts and hard work he has been putting. He's passionate, determinated and genuine. His dedication and all the love he puts in what he loves is one of many reasons to be proud of him. He's just authentic, Wooyoung is Wooyoung and he always shows who he is, and that's admirable, that makes him different and unique. He's becoming in who he wants to be and I've always believed in him and all his potential, he will leave a big mark on the world, along with ATEEZ.

I'm so happy that you paused where you did to explain disciplined dance execution. I don't think these days these dance styles are as popular and not sure most people, even other dancers, would appreciate how much he must have practiced to get those lines. He has Astaire written all over him, then flips into pure Wooyoung. It's actually incredibly sophisticated choreo in the way it's mixed to reflect both his incredible talent and HIS personality. He absolutely owns this piece. Kudos to the choreographer as well. (Also loved your Taemin shout out... good eye.)

Jeff - I just have to say your breakdowns on the technical aspects of dance are the best. I LOVE how you dissected this video and pointed out things that someone like me with no dance background, would have never noticed. Wooyoung is an AMAZING dancer and I was so thrilled to see him get this opportunity. Being in a group like Ateez where every single person is a great dancer sometimes makes it difficult to stand out simply because they have to work together and look cohesive as a team. But this particular video shows just how incredibly much he has grown and how hard he has worked to improve and he truly shined. I thought it was absolutely brilliant and supremely entertaining. Wooyoung leaned very heavily into the 'sexy performance' for a long time in their rookie stage, and I do agree I think it was 100% his confidence. I think he KNEW he was a good dancer, but knowing you're a good dancer and having to be up on stage and showing that to other people is a different thing, so he fell back on being 'hyper sexy' when possible as a mask for any insecurity over his dancing. As Ateez has settled more, he's dropped that 'sexy performance' persona and has instead grown into this sensual style of dancing. Yes he's attractive, yes he knows it, but it's not so put on now. He embodies it much better and it's a sign that he's become much more confident in himself and his dancing.
