Those who insist that the song sucks, are those that probably knows only a bit of NCT's discography. NCT is a group that experiments with their sound. They know what people like but they also know what THEY, as artists, like. That's why their albums would have those absolute all-rounder bops and songs that showcase their vocals but they would choose a different sound for their title tracks. Kick It, Regular and all the other title tracks are non--traditional in a sense and they're not afraid to try it out. Even with Dream and WayV.

i will admit that i don't like sticker that much. i liked lemonade better and wouldn't be mad if it became the title song but sticker grew on me, the vocal flex is insane, and i acknowledge that it is the most neo which in turn makes it the better title track. performance wise both lemonade and sticker is superb and the contrast of performance is insane. jungwoo really shined on this cb, though my eyes are really drawn to haechan, especially his dance line, chef's kiss, it is johnny approved.

Haechan's part actually was really a reference to Hello Future. They referenced some of their songs in Sticker's choreography. They did Boss, cherry bomb, resonance, regular, 7th sense, simon says and a few more which I don't remember haha. I think it's a really good way to integrate the progress of their discography and different dancing styles into their present dances.

idk if someone has mention who is the choreographer is but ill just let you know. Sticker was choreohraphed by Antoine Troupe ( Millenium Dance LA ), Prepix dance crew Ilhyung and Joo Youngbeen ( 1Million studio ). Its surprising for me when you mention about the style similar to 1million and Millenium Dance LA! And yes I totally agree with you about the dance on chorus, its not usual kpop moves ( which always sharp, angles on point ), this one is a lot more groovy and bouncy. Totally has more hip hop dance elements.

the most upsetting thing that happened this week for me was definitely during Bangchan’s vlive on sunday (i’m a stayzen). i was one of the people commenting suggesting chan to react to Sticker because i was curious about how he thinks about it since he actually knows music. and as soon as he played it, the comment section was FLOODED by hate comments telling him how horrible the song is, telling him to stop playing it etc. and while he was complimenting 127, people commented that he doesn’t have to pretend to like it. like, really?? people who loves this type of songs exist! me included! and obviously channie too! it was upsetting to see how people think he was pretending to respect his seniors.

@@jisungsmom1273 here’s the thing, Bangchan’s room vlive every Sunday is actually a chill session where he shares stuffs, then he listens/reacts to other artists’ songs in between. he encourages fans to give song suggestions and actually read them. i’ve been a Stay since literally their debut. THIS is the very first time people react this strongly to a song he plays. there has been instances where they say a song is bad, for example when Chan (i think with Felix?) once reacted to a JYP’s song, but it was mostly just people clowning JYP himself in good fun. Sticker is the first time I can feel the hate radiating through the screen in realtime. I had to leave the vlive after that because i was just flabbergasted. I know every fandom has its toxic fans, the bigger they are the more toxic it is. but it was at that point I realized that SKZ has become big enough to attract THAT many toxic stays/trolls.

I'm still trying to recover from the Sticker Mafia dance lol Taeyong slayed it while listening to a slower song. It was insane, knowing the steps are matched up with the songs notes. You also gotta love the references to the previous tracks like Boss mentioned by Taeyong in Sticker (and him doing the killing point of Boss)

As for sticker's choreo I heard that Taeyong said there were actually 2 kind of choreo and they decided to choose the second one... And I think sticker was chosen as a title track because of the music but regardless, both sticker and lemonade are such great songs

I love Sticker, in fact I think it's better than Lemonade. I love Lemonade but I'm one of the ones who feel like Lemonade would have been safe if it was a title track. Sticker was something only NCT could do and did it extraordinary well. Besides, the people hating it now will be the ones loving it when their favorite groups trys to do it a year or so from now. Not a bad thing, but I think people just love to hate NCT titles because it's the cool thing to do. Anyway, tangent over. Jungwoo killed the sticker choreography! They all did!

If you would notice, the opening part of Sticker looked like a rivalry between Jaehyun's side who moved first then Taeyong's side moved where as the middle part, Jungwoo moves in both. They used this "story" in Who Is Sticker where Jaehyun represented the past and Taeyong represents the future thus they were at the opposite ends of the table and Jungwoo is the median. And then the same story was used in the music video, Taeyong and Jaehyun were the only ones wearing the outfit with flames and the scenes showed how they're on opposite sides. The little yet very consistent details they incorporated in the whole Sticker concept will make you in pure awe!! As always, I love watching your analysis of their dances~

Taeyong def has made his own style in dancing and had also made it a huge part of nct's brand, I've noticed other younger members are also following their leader's steps and that's really interesting. Taeyong is right up there with kai, teamin & lay in term of being a prominent dancer

Stickers is really stand out in term of music, vocal and performance. For me, lemonade has a lot of repetition in the lyrics n dance. So its really suit as a bside track.

I also noticed that Taeyong late moment during Lemonade's bridge. I thought he was really late. I resumed to watch this part again and again to understand what's wrong and it turned out DOMINO effect with him (Taeyong), Yuta, and Johnny. Their arms went down while others went up. You can pause that part to see their arm position haha. The formation didn't symmetrical, but i think that's intentional to give a complex impression. Idk Hahaha. But the imagery didn't look well so our eyes interpreted as "late". Idk, maybe because of the speed haha

Tbh I wasn't too keen on the song when they released it but it has grown on me ever since. It's very unique, very SM style and I think the flute does wonders for the music. The song is unbearably addictive.

To answer your question of why TY did the move in the intro different here (the MJ move): his feet were injured so they had to change some of the moves to lessen impact on his feet. You can even see him touching the ground with his hand in around 5:58, to support some of his weight (because in that position it would cause a lot of pressure on his toes). Performance wise, he has been wearing different shoes than his team mates (the stylist did try to make it less obvious though) and changing the moves for almost all live performances, to let his feet rest a bit more.

I love how you dive into some of the finer technicalities and consistently cross-reference other genres, agencies, just different versions of the performance arts when analyzing these videos. I always appreciate the extra information and that you always re-explain what words and phrases mean so that those who are unfamiliar with them have a better understanding of what you’re talking about. All of this aside…. I’m obsessed with NCT. Every single person in this group has their very own unique style when it comes to vocals & dance and the way they take advantage of that fact to bring themselves together as one whole cohesive unit never ceases to amaze me. I never get tired of watching them dance or perform because no matter where you look, there’s always something new. And I love the fact that they have so many repetitive motifs of movements, sounds & the words they use in their songs. Everything about NCT is so neo chaotic but no one makes it work better than they themselves. I’ve only been into Kpop since April of this year. The very first group I got into was actually StrayKids and I love them so much but from the very first moment I caught a glimpse of Taeyong’s captivating movements and body lines and I immediately fell in love with the whole group to the point I learned all 23 members and their group dynamics in a day before I just randomly dug their choreography, finding myself trapped. Nct quickly found themselves as my very top favorite artists among alllll of the different music I listen to because they’re just that insane to me. Anyways, sorry for the long ass paragraph 😅 if you see any of my comments,‘I guarantee you at least half of them are about this length and many even longer lol but I just never seem to run out of things to say about them 🤷

Interesting how you commented on how Sticker’s choreo is heavily hiphop influenced with a tiny bit of ballet touch. Jungwoo’s been going STRONG on the comeback stages (trust me, he’s SOOO different from practice vids on stage lol). I’ve been wondering why and then I remember that Jungwoo was trained in hip hop and ballet before he joined SM (his team even won some nationwide competitions too!). Maybe that’s one of the reasons why he seems to be more in his element in this comeback lmao. Mark in this comeback reminds me of his SuperM days, he SHINESSS. There’s something about Mark doing a darker, mature and badass hip hop concept. I mean he was iconic in SuperM but it’s hard to focus just on him knowing his bandmates (it was practically impossible to focus on just one person in SuperM, really) Like Jungwoo, Mark seems to be really in his element when he’s dancing hip hop. I wish Mark as a dancer would be more highlighted lmao I love his swag and his footwork. Fun fact: Mark went to SOPA and he took a practical dance major, which is the most difficult majors to get into (Kai was also a part of it!) Your comment about Taeyong’s outfit lmaooo twt was filled with how Taeyong would be wearing the flashiest outfits on dance practice videos I just love him 😂 And oh, Haechan… I really wish that SM would give him more opportunity. The kid’s sooo talented in so many fields. Dancing? Check. Singing? Check. Variety? Check. Haechan straight up ended me in his SWF parody in MMTG 😭😭😭

Thanks for mentioning Jungwoo, I was really impressed with him this comeback too but I don't see many people talking about him, just the more popular members like Taeyong, Mark and Haechan 🥺. Even the comments here are talking a lot about Haechan (no hate though because I love HIM). I'm a soft NCT Stan so I don't really have a bias, all of the members are so amazing and should be highlighted!

I personally prefer MARK's dancing on this especially on Lemonade. Hip-hop really comes naturally to him. But for real, I feel like this genre of dance really suited him the most. (his natural swag adds a lot on this). 💚💚 Overall, I really love both of these! but I also do prefer the dance for STICKER. It was so unique, so NEO, and 127 pulls it off!! They all killed this! Their dance is on next level here 🔥 Idk, it might be because I love the song too but like STICKER is now my most favorite NCT dance practice. 😂💚

Ever since the song came out, I have done nothing but hype it and play it and sing it because I really love the song. I had to listen to someone bash the song to me over the phone and I really hated that they called it trash, etc. Sticker is an absolute masterpiece just as fitting as their discography and I’ll never let anyone tell me NCT sucks because they’re amazing and perfectly suit my tastes.
