Hurt and Hype Boy are my top 2 for sure! I have got to say, ADOR/Hybe went all out for these girls and it's paying off. There's so much content! I was definitely not expecting several MVs, and I agree, all their songs are bops. I also love their performances too because they play around on the stage and have very interesting choreos.

I gotta appreciate the choreos too. Especially in Hype boy, where almost each of their bodies is facing towards another direction and when turning to each other they hold eye contact and smile a lot, even laugh. It makes the choreo so sympathetic and likeable since it makes us think or more like feel that they really have fun. They also have some fun traveling, like the excited jumping/running or 10:15 with one leg to the side, getting a little distance. Love their choreo! A lot. Cookie also has sooo good choreo. It's kinda hip-hop-y with some locking which is a really nice and uncommon thing to see amongst girl groups.

They look like 5 Asian-American high school girls. Play in a group dance and sing together. Very nostalgic. Actually, they have one Vietnamese-Australian member and one Australian-Korean member. And they are both fluent in English. This group fits this concept perfectly. They will go very far in the world market. Mark my words.

Idk if someone already said it but some of the parts of the attention’s mv was filmed in Barcelona!!! They were in “Sala Apolo” a “club” where they hold concerts and etc. I visisted some of the places shown in the mv with my friends!

i do really think that HYBE groups are very different, like each group has a vibe and sound so thats actualky impressive to me. BC the other big3 are very peculiar and similar, like they have a company sound so each group has something that is the same.

Thing I really love about this would be that the music they gave us is really refreshing and nostalgic which I really enjoyed I mean hurt-attention-cookie have been played on my spotify so much for the past 3 days 😅 the girls also match the concept really well and so do there vocals! Why do we always conflate ethnicity and nationality in Kpop. Australian is a Nationality.They either are or aren't and are not "half". They are half Vietnamese/Korean and then whatever ethnicity their other parent is. If you are using Australian to mean white then they are likely of European descent.

You can hear a lot of late 90s/early 2000s pop and r&b influences. Which is great for them because of how much you need a focus on vocal range and stability to do proper justice to that era of western music. While not a complete 1 to 1 comparison, I hear a lot of early destiny's child, tamia, and even early Mariah in the vocal inspirations and inflections. As well as, the bubblegum pop era of Britney and Christina. Which is not surprising since Min Hee-Jin (Ador CEO and mastermind behind NewJeans) did the same thing with different eras of Shinee, Exo, and Red Velvet.

One thing I really appreciate and consider as something so fresh in kpop is the girls not having colored hair during their debut. I think its so nice. Like theyre not pressured to do so and promote good healthy natural hair. Very wonderful imo. Considering Ive been into kpop since 2011.

I agree! It's a really orientalist viewpoint to say that Kpop sounds western, especially, for Kpop to become globalised it's had to conform towards western music styles to become more globally accepted. Overtime Kpops been able to intergrate traditional Korean cultural elements, but its almost impossible now to say Kpop is just korean or westernised ect.

I think Attention MV was shot in Spain. Sala Apolo (that concert venue/nightclub in the beginning of the MV was in Barcelona), and one of the scenes says "Girona" on the signage which is also a city in Spain.

All "Attention", "Hype Boy" and "Cookie" are their title tracks, which is a pretty cool promotion of the group. Hurt is actually their only b-side. Also a thing for Hype Boy is that all 4 MVs have a different story for each members. The one you watched was for Danielle and Haerin and their story. Edit: Tho they havent performed all three title tracks in 1 music show, but they have all performed them in different music shows. Like Attention on MNET, Hype Boy on Music Bank and such. They performed Cookie as well on a different music show.

@@Yana12332 i have checked their timeline and i believe august 4 was their 1st promotion day. they performed on mnet mcountdown with hype boy and cookie (but a shorter version) then august 5, they performed attention only on music bank. then on august 7, they performed attention and cookie full version on inkigayo. so yeah if you check all dates, they really havent performed all songs in 1 music show in 1 day. it's either just 2 songs or 1.

I actually enjoy cookie because it's cute. If only people look at the song in the Korean context and not the green mind western context we would have enjoyed it all. I understand there are issues about them being underage and everything but if ya'll want to look at something badly you would definitely relate it to something in the bad light. I was skeptic of the song at first when there were articles about it, but when I watch it with both Korean lyrics and English translation I don't quite understand why they dragged this too much. People are so used of HYBE songs having deep meaning to it they no longer understand shallow words. Idk if that's good because HYBE fans constantly over think or fight and have trust issues with the idols. Ehem SVT. Ehem TXT🙃
