True. For me, the meaning of a dance practice video should be letting ppl see the whole choreography with every member at any second, and ppl can learn the choreography from it. The "moving camera and having solo camera time" thing needs to stay in performance video 😤

ever since Move, he aimed to break gender stereotypes. hence, the mix of masculine and feminine movements in the choreo of Move. "I wanted to break the idea of what male performers are supposed to show, what performances girl groups are supposed to show. I really wanted to break those labels, showing that dance is a form of art.” and it has become his signature style, androgynous and sensual.

Yes, we know

I actually love that the whole song and performance is kinda.. gender-neutral? Like, it's depicting a toxic relationship of some sort but, to me at least, there is nothing to tell us what role is supposed to have which gender. I love how he does that and I think it makes the song much more powerful. I don't know if there is any other idol who could've pulled that off
@hessaa17124 жыл бұрын
Tbh he only one can do it... He dance but never feel like he is a girl not even a second..he always manly and cool on stage
@someonenothere88184 жыл бұрын
Well rather than saying it's his aim to break gender stereotypes, I think it's kind of an acceptance of how he's perceived by his looks. I've been a fan of Shinee for a long time, and taemin, from his debut was someone who was promoted as the "cute" and "pretty" member of the group because of his looks. He didn't actually enjoy as much to be honest, I think for a while and still today, he didn't want to actually want to be seen as feminine, and wanted to be more masculine. But in truth his face is quite pretty and boyish, and he is naturally thinner body wise, someone like him would still have a thin structure even if he tried to gain muscle. So I think he kind of struggled to accept that, and eventually he actually accepted a part of who he is, and decided to portray himself in a more sensual manner with graceful sensual, but also powerful dance moves. I think it's great actually, because some idols or people in kpop groups, especially men seem to struggle secretly when they're marketed as attractive for their feminine or cute features. A good example is luhan, who after leaving exo released some songs which were more mature that i think he did in attempt to escape from the image he had before, which was more mellow and cutesy. But when taemin came out with danger, I was really impressed, since he didn't try to appear too overly masculine or sexy. Of course compared to his newer songs danger appears more powerful, but stylistically it's not overtly so.
@shush96874 жыл бұрын
@@someonenothere8818 it's not even my opinion, that's how he says it in interviews, i'm just quoting him. but yeah i also think it's his way of accepting himself. like in danger album, his song pretty boy is saying that he's more than his pretty looks. i can see how he used to hate being called pretty but now he's using it to his advantage.

One of Taemin’s dancers said recently that normally and idol will tell them “I will give my 70%, so you give the rest so the picture is complete” but with Taemin is “ I will give 100%, so please do so too”. Imagine if SM supported him and promoted his solo... Taemin said he wishes to reach 1M on 24H for his dance practice, please stream ♥️ Thanks Jeff for reacting! Edit: Ok, for the new ones who doesn't know about Taemin being mistreated... Comment by Shineeing Stars: Taemin's last korean album/comeback was in February last year titled WANT and who knew that that would be his last comeback as a solo in awhile because after he dropped his Japanese MV FAMOUS in July last year, we never got any solo's from him again because he would join Super M and go on tour with them and release music so chances of him releasing his own music was zero. We need to take note that while he was preparing for Super M's debut, he had just came back from his own solo concert tour in Japan (June-August) And then from Oct 2019 - Jan 2020 he was on and off on Super M's tour. After that SM announced in Jan 2020 that he would make his comeback in March but it never happened and they didn't even bother to say anything at all. And then SM announced he was going to have a korean concert based on his album NGDA in March but it was cancelled because of Covid-19. In Feb he was spotted filming a MV in Paris (Now we know it was 2 KIDS) but it was not until April there were rumors he was going going to have a CB but it never happened and Taemin went on several IG lives to express his dissatisfaction as well. SM then FINALLY announced in June that he will have his COMEBACK (2 KIDS) in July but that was officially postponed because Taemin suffered a wrist fracture. Taemin was also disappointed and apologized a lot for it. On July 26th, SM announced AGAIN that his single 2 KIDS will be released and in August they announced that his album NGDA will be released in September. But the problem was that Super M would also be releasing 100 and Tiger inside in August and Sept and their full album will drop on September 25th. This is a problem because this gives Taemin less time to focus and promote his own solo and he would need to jump around from one CB to another. Now that CRIMINAL has already been released, SM has done NOTHING to promote him at all and Taemin has to be the one to beg people to listen to song on his IG LIVES and he even opened a TIK TOK account to promote CRIMINAL but his choreo is too complex for people to do. Let's not forget how upset Taemin was at SM for leaking CRIMINAL on his variety show without his consent too. Right now we are not sure how many weeks Taemin will promote CRIMINAL on Music Bank considering how Super M's album will be dropping very soon.
@OokamiTsu4 жыл бұрын
@yummiwatch You talk like the bare minimun is good enough... And this isn't the first time, he gets neglected when releasing dates and even hyping up comebacks. Now, you can just compare SuperM's promotions and his. If they use him as the face of the group at least they should promote him the same way, he souldn't thank them for "allowing him" to be on SuperM. And it goes for every member, they all deserve to be promoted the same. (Also promotions aren't just posting some photos and videos, it's a whole marketing process before and when released and it's not about leaving everything to the fans either. They don't even bother about adds which help a lot) Edit: They skipped his showcase, first week of promo, no hashflag, no adds and no promotions on variety shows.
@Celebrenedhel404 жыл бұрын
@yummiwatch I agree. I think the idea he's not being supported or promoted is exaggerated. The thing is Taemin really doesn't need a lot of hype because the minute there's an inkling of him releasing a song or a video teaser comes out, his fan-base is all over it and the fastest way to spread anything is word of mouth. His popularity is his best form of promotion. Whether with SHINee, solo, or with SuperM, the amount of fans who will spread the word the minute Taemin even winks at his Instagram screen is enormous. People are still the best advertisement and promotion there is. SM Entertainment knows that with Taemin, they don't have to do a lot, he promotes himself with how much his fans adore him. Taemin also knows how that part of the business works, too. He knows the things he can do to help get the word to his fans about new projects (sometimes, he leaks things he shouldn't and he's still an evil maknae, so he does it anyway ;-) ) He isn't SM's only idol. He's one of their Icons. He knows what he's doing.

@@OokamiTsu I also don't understand why people don't understant that he is not being promoted . I mean, just the thinking of skiping an entire week of possible promotion after the release when is the release it self that hype the people and create the momentum is insane.This is why there are tempos that must be followed in every comeback (not in this, because Taemin is doing it all by himself with the help of Jinki, Kibum and Minho, which is the ultimate irony because how is it possible that Minho from one of the most reserved units in the Korean army is promoting Taemin better than SM?). Please anyone show me one single ad. Just one. He recorded the dance practice in a feffing rush. I don't even know what is doing SM now rather than promote SuperM seriously... It's like them saying: well this is Taemin, this is how good he is, now if you want him watch our SuperM content. And don't even tell me about his reality ( that I'm enjoying because is him and that's enough for me) but as soon as Taemin said in one of his lives that he wanted to record one TaemLog with Jinki and his members and friends, they shout it down and send him alone in the woods ( I really think that they use his injury as an excuse... sorry.... to many years in SM Town is what makes you like me, suspicious at last. ) I can recall that the most used sentences in InstaLive this year is "Don't leave me", "Something is comming please wait a little bit longer", "I really wanted to do it but...". Don't make me start about how SM celebrate SHINee's aniversary this year because I'm fumming. .(Only if I knew it I could sent to SM pearlaqua ballons, and a white Saeng -il-chuk-ha-hap-ni-da banner with diamonds and stars and the moon, and some of the most amazing SHINee pictures exquisitly framed to put on the wall during the Vlive, and would buy an amazing cake, and I would sent some questions about the most amazing moments in SHINee's history etc...) I mean it was sad for me to watch him asking to the people outside SM the day of SHINee's Aniversary if they are Shawols or not. I mean, I have the feeling that this year he is being left alone but not when SM needs to promote SuperM. This is my opinion, this is not the Bible or some sacred words on a stone. (Oh shit! All this verbatim just to say that I'm agree with you, mihane!)

Dont understand why you need to down other groups to talk up Taemin. I agree with everything you said I just think we could have gotten the point across with out acting like BTS is for people who can't appreciate artistry or that there isn't any there when they're one of the groups who have been heavily involved in their own artistry and taking agency over their concepts. Taemin himself would be offended at the suggestion they aren't lol. There has been a shift recently for companies to at least appear to allow their idols to have a hand in their own concepts and skills, but I tend to think it's for appearances sake because they know people want it. I don't think anyone will ever properly come close to Taemin though. And not enough people want to acknowledge this.

To answer your question about the tied hands. The fabric is actually loosely tied around the wrists which makes it easy for them to remove. They are wrapped one time like a figure 8 with one wrist in each loop. If you go to the behind the scenes making of the video, you can see how loose the fabric is. The dancers then simulate the restraint, but it is actually a loose prop.

His choreos always complement so well the meaning of his songs and the live performances are even more mesmerizing! Btw Taemin usually has a very good relationship with his dancers, especially for his solo songs.

Now Black Rose of Taemin's new album (Never gonna dance again) has just been released. His choreography is Art. Pless react

The ties on their hands are actually tied in like a ring that is twisted to like an 8 shape and when they're taking it off in the choreo, their twisting their right hand inside to undo the 8 and it makes it a 0. That's why it lookes like they undid the tie so smoothly (i hope that makes sense 😅). It's a very smart and cool move/illusion. It's not the first time I saw Taemin do that sort of thing, make illusions with tieing. In SHINee's Tell Me What To Do, he did this thing where he's like tieing his neck with a scarf then it just comes of like magic but it's really just very smart hand movements that creates an illusion. Props to their choreographers, they have big brains! 🤯

In this dance practice I really appreciated his backup dancers as well, they were incredible and that makes him shine even more... he could looked less refined if the dancers were not as good as him but they were able to make his performance the spectacle that it is. I’m so glad that he can work with people that are able to follow the image he has in his head and his style of dance which as you said is very unique and androgynous.

This dance practice is already epic and Taemin is out there for a vigillion time showing everyone how art should be done and why he is the best performer out there. There is simply no comparison between his artistry and his grand scale spectacle vision and what I usually see nowadays in Kpop.

there are so many replayable moments in the choreo! Also, the blonde girl really caught my eye!

I so appreciate the background dancers too, especially the women? i love how in so much of Taemin's choreo the female dancers are rarely treated as pretty objects - they're dancers, dammit, with skill!!

The choreographer is Kasper who choreograph for Baekhyun Candy and UN Village, Kasper before is Taemin Dancer for Danger, and now for Taemin dancer are Rian and Simez who's choreograph for Chungha - Play and Hyoyeon - Dessert, i'm satisfied with Taemin dancers because they can sinergy with Taemin making beautiful dance

As much as I love ALL the choreo, the most special part for me was the ending bc it was so great to see him switch over and show us how much his stage presence changes him so completely. The heart's so cute too. :) Great video as always, glad you got to see this one so quick!
