AOMG is a hiphop label! Jay Park is the CEO and there are many rappers (Simon D, Loco), producers (GRAY, Code Kunst), singers (Leehi, Hoody), and even an MMA fighter (Korean zombie) under the company. Some people were worried that he won't fit in but I think AOMG is great at promoting people with their own characteristics and specialty instead of fitting everyone into a "standard". I'm happy because this dance visual is Yugyeom's introduction as a member of AOMG and it's such a good start, showcasing his strong suit. You can see how happy he is now that he is free and will get more opportunities to showcase his dancing in the future!

JYPe held Yugyeom back a LOT as a dancer. When they didn't renew their contract I was praying that he'd now be free to dance as he wants so I was so happy when this released

Ikr when people list top dancers they always missed yugyeom. His talent is at the top tier but jyp failed to utilized his talent in dancing. Jyp didnt give him much chance To show off his talents. I put the blame on jyp as to why people didn't recognize him as top dancer in the industry.

One thing is also, GOT7 is a group that sings live. So naturally their dances are made in mind that they will need to sing live on stage and in concerts. It definitely doesn't allow great dancers like Yugyeom to fully dance freely in his elements

and their dances are to fit the song and should something that all the members can do so ofc he can't fully show his full potential. i was really glad when he joined hit the stage even if it was the last 2 rounds already. i do hope more dance competition shows will be made in korea

I told him that actually several times but I don’t think he takes that point in consideration when reacting because he commented on that a lot, he likes heavily military choreos which is fine too but most of the groups doing so are focusing on dance only, GOT7 focuses on both and singing is also important, I’m always surprised that as a performer he doesn’t really take that in consideration analyzing.

@@sonia4313 yeah right. but got7 has many hard ass core songs too and they still managed to sing live and the biggest example is lullaby, hard carry and look. plus eclipse and last piece are also complicated choreos too they have many details although they might not seem hardcore

@@madesvalad2917 yeah for real these are some hard ass choreos that probably only them can pull these off while singing live, I’m just talking about the style like some have a really sharp/ military style which isn’t GOT7 style despite having synch and complex choreos they were always free to dance keeping their own style and not be forced to dance all the same, that’s what I ment, but OP only watches choreos and I’ve noticed he loves military ones and usually discredit those who doesn’t have that style which is kinda weird for a dancer/ performer because everybody has their own style and flavor and the fact that he doesn’t take in consideration that GOT7 actually creates choreos taking full consideration of both singing and dancing while performing is 🤯 like really only a small portion of groups have that cohesion having full groups that are both great dancers/ singers and performers and still are able to pull out hard ass choreos and singing live. I’ve only seen that perfect unisson in GOT7 and Shinee, like both are sooo fluid

yugyeom is known of his skill of street dancing. he won first place on hit the stage final. he also known own amazing footwork. since AOMG is khiphop label, he gonna focus on hiphop dance too and sing too in future. for everyone who said he didn't suit on aomg, they didn't know about yugyeom music. his soundcloud were full of rnb soul song but sady he deleted his sc maybe preparing his debut too as singer. please support his journey too in future 💗

This is just a warm up. Yugyeom still has a lot to show and he'll put his style in all of his works in the near future. This kind of dancing is yugyeom's strong element and he enforced it even more back in early 2019ish when they had a break and he chose to go to LA and enroll in a dance studio. Yugyeom's sense of rhythm is really amazing and he also participated in a lot of GOT7's choreos. As a soloist (for now) he'll put out a lot more of great works to define himself, so i hope you can tune in with us.

He always danced like that you can check his stages on hit the stages or the videos he posted with his crew or even these freestyle, dance is his element he is really confident with it, sadly a lot are only noticing right now or thinking that he is like that because he « liberated » when he always had that energy but wasn’t really promoted to people to see. Also most of the dancers are the crew he dances with since more than 10 years I believe. They’re called BODY & SOUL. Also I don’t know if you know but Yugyeom speciality is house dance that’s why his foot work and musicality is really on point. 6:48 a lot of steps here are made in canon or made so Yugyeom’s distincts from them that’s why it seemed un synchronized, I also had to watch it and analyze several time to get it because I also thought of it the first time but when watching it again i saw that it was canon then not canon than canon again. Tho a lot of hip hop moves are more about the grove 100% sync. Also you were right they mixed with a lil bit of krumping. But yeah he wasn’t promoted enough as a dancer with JYPE but also their style of songs are overtly rnb so you won’t get a heavy ass choreo for it it’s logic lol.

I think one of the things to think about with GOT7 is that unlike most kpop groups who have 1 maybe 2 members who actually have a style of a dance they’re good at the rest are just doing choreography and out of repetition they are good and in sync. But GOT7 has 6 out of 7 members who specialize in a style of dance because they all specialize in different styles I think it’s really hard for them to be as synchronized as maybe some other groups but what they can bring in terms of freestyle and genres of dance is far above any other kpop group. The 1 genre id stay they’d all have in common is hiphop but being in JYP there was no way JYP was going to let them. Yugyeom- House/footwork, krumping, hiphop Jb- bboying, hiphop, Jackson - hiphop, tricking Jinyoung- popping, hiphop Bambam- hiphop, popping, Mark- tricking, hiphop
