At first I was afraid the audience not able to get the music of Perfume. What if they don't have much reaction? But then I remember thats the same for Perfume when they are very young, being a high school student and tried to introduce their music to Japanese audience back in Tokyo. They were okay back those days even with only two audiences, so they would be fine in coachella too. It doesn't matter that Perfume is so new to the audience. Perfume would not be shaken and would do their best as always!! Faith in the queens♡

True! They've weathered storms together. I remember when they first performed on Music Station for Baby Cruising Love. They were so grateful to have reached that point. They said they have decided to go home to Fukuoka if that song didn't do well. So we know they are genuine, and always want to give their best.

I think Pentatonix helped Perfume a bit when I heard their Perfume Medley. I was skeptical since I was not familiar with J-Pop. When I started listening to their music I felt a sense of happiness, positivism, and hope despite not understanding what they were singing. Looking at the audience they felt the same thing. Music is a language on its own and Perfume does a wonderful job expressing that language to their audiences and through their personalities.

Nicholas Nostro I don’t know if you’ll ever read this but Perfume is actually a super interesting story. You can see them perform this song to literally nobody for free publicly on KZbin. Perfume were signed up by Amuse to essentially be an auxiliary group in their b-hive project, a project so successful that it’s basically retconned from the internet, and were just kind of hanging on while going to college until a radio DJ found their song by random chance and decided to play it, this led to them being in a recycling public announcement that led to them breaking out into one of the biggest groups in Japan, effectively creating the “alt idol” genre, popularizing Yasutaka Nakata(who influenced passion pit, Porter Robinson and others) and being trailblazers in Japanese music’s attempt to grow it’s listener base:

Blackpink only debuted 3 years ago and was the first Korean girl group to be at Coachella. Perfume has been together for almost 20 years and although they were the first Japanese girl group to be at the festival, there have been many other Japanese artists and bands at Coachella (like X Japan). Plus people were so hyped about Blackpink since their fanbase is much larger and Blackpink were one of the co-headliners of the festival, meaning they were right below the main act.

Matthew is right. Okay some people are writing stupid stuff. It’s just simply that BP are 3 yrs old and Perfume are 20yrs old. BP are the 1st KPOP girl group and Perfume are the 1st JPOP girl group. KPOP is also much bigger atm. Also BP were HEADLINERS. Funny thing is BP didn’t even think many people would show up to there stage. But funny that they had a full crowd and so did Perfurme. JPOP hasn’t gotten there yet, but it’s fans are growing. Both ways they are both very talented and very different. I was there and enjoyed both groups so much.it was a great night tbh.

エレクトロ・ワールドはRock in japan2008で初めて見て衝撃を受けた曲。それまではPerfumeって普通のアイドルグループくらいにしか思ってなくて何となくは知っていたけどこの曲で度肝を抜かれたのを覚えてる、それくらい衝撃的でカッコイイと思った。その頃から現在までずっと変わらずに愛され続ける楽曲をたくさん制作してきた中田ヤスタカとブレることなく独自路線を貫いて発信し続けてきたPerfumeは不動のポジションを築き上げた。本当に凄いことだよ。

blackpink sings with a loud backtrack so i don't get why is it so different and they're not great dancers besides lisa (imo) i'm a kpop fan (mostly) and perfume are high level dancers their stamina after dancing in high heels for 2 hours straight (on tour) is amazing they danced to bar bar bar (crayon pop song) once and they nailed it i'm sure that if kpop trainees would try a perfume choreo they would struggle and it's actually nice because you can tell what's special and unique about them

A~chan recently had been saying she and the team fully trust that Nakata being able to manage the production all by himself. A~chan actually gained an opportunity to write lyrics with Haruichi Shindō from Porno Graffiti in Amuse fes 2015. The song is call 'それを強さと呼びたい 2015ver'. Shimdo-san commented that a~chan put so much emotions on the first four lines, leading the rest of the song not as powerful as the beginning. Are the people in the audience fans or Perfume or were most of them just want to check out Perfume? Phones are up in the front and they're pretty responsive of A-chan's audience participation prompts. Also, I saw in Perfume's FB page how the people looked seeing them so idk if they were fans or not. But either way, I hope Perfume will get more people into World PTA fan base ❤️

They received loud applause after each song, and the crowd seemed to be really enjoying it. The choreography and visuals were fantastic.

I was there and just wanted to check them out cause I was curious. Turned out to be in the top 3 of my favorite sets that weekend! They were so damn good I couldn't believe it! The crowd definitely loved them too!
