I agree, this stuff is fantastic. I remember getting my 5ml decant and spraying it for the first time - the goofy smile I felt on my face said it all, I knew this was something special right away even though I obviously didn't know how it was composed and blended like you broke it down as a perfumer. I have to say, the thing about your reviews I enjoy the most is actually the chemical breakdowns you give. I'm sure a lot of people just want to hear your general thoughts on a particular fragrance and I certainly want to as well but as someone who is just starting to delve into creating my own fragrances, learning about certain aroma chemicals and the effects they produce is most helpful. Whenever you say something like "he's using this material to provide lift and elevation" or "they're using this musk to create a velvety texture" or whatever, I take it as like a free perfumery crash course and it has helped me tremendously in knowing what types of aroma chemicals and naturals to purchase, instead of just going about it blindly.

I own Xerjoff Alexandria II, Uden Overdose, Accento, and Commandante. But I must say Alexandria II is above and beyond all else even all Xerjoff perfumes are special. Great review as always Aaron!

Glad you gave it a try and enjoyed it - thanks! I have tried quite a lot of fragrances, but Alexandria II is something special. Had the chance to wear a decant last winter and I loved every second of it. To me, it had a mild barnyard smell with incense and a slight rose hit. Quite expensive to buy it at once so I need to decant, but I don't really mind it. I think it's quite expensive due to the oud they're using being very rare. 10/10

Hey Aaron, François Demanchy really created a new masterpiece, Dior J’Adore Infinissime. A brand new perfume by the master. Funny fact, your Violet Delirium 4 sprays topped with 2 sprays Dior J’Adore Infinissime is heavenly. People start sniffing at me in public ☺️ and then compliment me on the extraordinary scent I carry. A must try for you!!! I’m convinced this will get your 10/10 approval.

Great review, will have to buy a decant to try it out because my skin is also the same, a lot of fragrances are really lacklustre on it. And since you make fragrances that suit you, I am going to have to try your line out as well. A fragrance that does last and project a very long time on my skin and I absolutely LOVE is Black Kalemat by Arabian Oud. It’s a really nice Western meets Middle Eastern ambery/vanilla fragrance with a touch of oud. I think you would love that one a lot.

Nice review Aaron. This amazing fragrance is on my Christmas list. Hefty price tag tho. Modern men's fragrances have swayed a bit too unisex. Amouage Interlude Black Iris is my favorite modern day masculine scent. It's a bloody workhorse which leaves a trail of destruction everywhere I go. Once my body temperature rises, Black Iris goes to another level. Bottle has had time to macerate over the last 9 months. It's become even more potent. Banger!

Which season would the fragrance be maximized. I do however, understand we purchased the fragrances and we can wear it when ever we want too. @@kimjong-un5074 I once upon a time had no love for "clean" smelling perfumes and only sought sweet. This changed my mind on that. It ended up not being my favorite of the few I received but my second favorite, right behind Initio's Oud for Greatness. It smelled truly clean, somehow like fresh linens without being overwhelming interwoven in a flower field scent. I was a bit underwhelmed by the description of woody, the reason I fell in love with the oud is for it's outstanding wooden scent. Alexandria II is like a clean flower field, flesh linen and a hint of sweet almond. The apple didn't really come through to me but I have an odor that's hard to pair with so that could be down to personal body chemicals. It smelled like heaven on my mother who said it was reminiscent of a perfume her beloved grandmother, my great grandmother wore (and she had good taste). It's a familiar albeit unique and beautiful scent of nature with an ever so faint dash of spiciness. I'm happy I bought it even though it did not work for my scent. It holds well and I noticed even after two days of not using it, it still clung to my body without ever being overwhelming or offensive. It was nice to get little wafts of the perfume days after use and shows how quality it is.

Thanks for the review. IMO Alexandria II is the furthest thing from Naxos to my nose. Alex 2 is a lavender, cinnamon, rosewood, sandalwood and oud heavy fragrance with a middle eastern influence. Naxos is a tobacco honey lavender gourmand with a much different skeletal structure than Alex 2

My point was the technical structure is similar. The back bone is Iso E Super, Musks, vanilla and Ambers is in a similar ratio. Thats how you can tell the perfumer. We build things in a similar way. I like the style of the perfumers technical abilities. . Thank you for watching.

In my opinion Xerjoff is pretty overrated, every Xerjoff fragrance has a relative in the mainstream area from the few years before

I love this one, but u should try Alexandria Orientale also. It has that strong oud punch in the beginning, then settles into a bit sweeter and more powdery Alexandria II, due to the green apple and orris. You won’t regret it

3:55 It's a scent I would love to smell on someone else, but not on myself. I also find the opening quite harsh to be honest. When I smell it up close in the opening it is too overwhelming. It's also quite floral and I was hoping that the oud was more prominent as the perfume series is called "Oud Stars". For me it's not perfect and for that price it should be. I think Xerjoff has better ones.

On my skin off the top i get a plasticky oud, rose and a really nice apple note. Then it turns into powder, powder, powder and powder. Then i also found a note of powder and some nuances of powder.

Some times I wonder what would happen if "some other fragrance" had Oud (like Tom ford noir extreme or terre d'hermes). Could it be interesting? This is my curiosity boiling... He has his actual Oud fragrance that he recommends for layering (which would probably be the closest thing he makes to an Animalix-ish oud fragrance), sells a pure oud sample, and has a sample of another type of oud in his Box Of Oud available on his website.

@@dontfollowrc, I know, I bought the samples back in February and I have the 10ml bottle of oud, onyx, tabac, animalix and forbidden (which I was the first one to decode on instagram 😜) The thing is, with the Oud fragrance you get more then "just" the oud. I don't agreed that Oud is comparable with the layering aspect of animalix... (I know want you mean but they are in different leagues)

It wouldn’t work. You would need to add things to it to make it work. I think pure Oud is a little unpleasant. It needs taming to bring out the beauty. I did sell pure Oud mainly to help customers detect if our was present.

If you’re enjoying the Xerjoff Brand, and you enjoy Oud and Indolic Jasmine, you may want to give Al-Khatt a try, I think it’s phenomenal, but not for everyone as it has a bit of skank in it lol (and honestly I think if it didn’t have the skank it wouldn’t get as good as it does as it progresses IMO).

Thank you for a very enjoyable video, and descriptive as all your videos are. I have been thinking of purchasing Alexandria II, However I noted you said it was in the Naxos vein. Seeing as I own Naxos would you advise against purchasing the Alexandria II?
