You described this fragrance exactly how I do. I do find it more unisex when everyone else says it's overwhelmingly masculine and I don't think that at all. I happen to quite love this scent and think it's very addictive. Would love to see more reviews from this house as I am a big fan of Le Labo I own Another 13, Santal 33, and Gaiac 10. Also, I would love to see you review Imaginary Authors in the future. They are very well priced and I think, well crafted. Great review Aaron

Love going deeper into the artistic interpretations of the perfumers which is something you don't really get from other reviewers. Unusual request - Gucci Guilty EDP (specifically the EDP, released in 2020). Rose and chili notes, a little unusual and surprisingly masculine for rose. Found at Sephora and Ulta, so there's a wide audience for it.

Resala is a clone of Lancome’s Oud Bouquet. Funny how arabic houses copy the formulas created by French perfumers in the Oriental style and try to pass it off as authentic Arabic perfumery.

Great review as always, would love to give this a try, don't believe I've ever smelled anything like it before. Also, please review Robert Graham's Fortitude, it's a tobacco/tonka/patchouli fragrance and is super simple yet incredibly lovely, and it seems to be completely under the radar. Just got my 250ml ram's head topped bottle in and I am so happy with it. I would be happy to send you a sample if you'd like.

I've worn Le Labo since they first came out in 2006. Rose 31, The Noir 29 and Bergamot 22 are my favourites. Sadly, like most beauty brands they were bought by the Estee Lauder group in 2014. So, it's sold all over the place now and most people wear Santal 33. They offer refills with a 20% off.
@Scythesabre2 жыл бұрын
They're not a small house, they have massive distribution worldwide. My favourite from their line-up is The Noir 29. The overall feel is not what I expected when you try to picture what it would be like based on the listed notes.

The smoky to sweet vibe from your assessment Aaron, reminds me of Islay whisky. Some people absolutely hate it, yet there are those who are convinced that it is the absolute best. Not me though. I love Islay whisky. Patchouli 24 is definitely a try before you buy type fragrance.

I love Patchouli 24...like smoked peat moss, whiskey barrel...so nice...wouldn't change a thing!! Maybe one of the best offerings by Le Labo including Another 13.... most of Le Labo's collection is of strong rough musty wood scents reminiscent of old boxes, not my favorite House but Patchouli 24 is a winner!!

Wow yeah I totally agree how the opening is very surprising. I went to a le labo boutique and got a sample of this, and the person at the counter told me that it was like an a cabin in the woods, sitting next to the fireplace. kick-ass review, i love this house but there are more misses than hits, it's really hard for any House to make a hit. They sold the company for like a billion dollars, owned by a massive conglomerate. Over-priced, but true niche & Le Labo is phenomenal quality!
@lukeweeks34702 жыл бұрын
I would love to see what you think of A City On Fire by Imaginary Authors! It smells like coal tar soap and then dries down to a very woody, sweet fragrance. Surprisingly, it's rather fruity in the far dry down! I think you'd hate the smokiness but it's very good artwork.

Thanks for the review. I tried a 2ml sample that I hated at first, a few weeks later I tried it again and became addicted. I purchased a 50ml bottle (made in 2018) and it smells like pure wood fire smoke. The sample only hints at smoky and smells almost like a solvent/sticky/dark/sweet and very vanilla on the drydown. They really are very different and the 2ml is a lighter colour. I like both verions but I'm not sure if the sample is a fake. I love the possibly fake one and it lasts longer. I wonder if there are different batches?! Anyway, thanks! :)

I usually burn incense at home and my favourite is spicy patchouli and I was wondering if there's a perfume that smells like that and le labo gave me exactly what I was craving with patchouli 24, especially the opening that is very smokey, I absolutely adore this scent but I also understand its an acquired scent

I really enjoyed Patchouli 24 from Le Labo at first - once it starts to open more it became really interesting to me. But it ended up doing the same thing I found with all Le Labo fragrances - it went flat and became very boring in a short amount of time. They all tell these really interesting stories for the first 10 minutes, and then become kind of linear. In the case of Patchouli 24 I realized that to me it smells exactly like lipstick, and once I got that from it, it's all I could get. Estée Lauder bought the company in 2014, and I'm not sure if they changed things after that. But what I suspect is that the scents are engineered so that if you walk into a store and try it, you get this amazing story right away, so that you'll buy it and walk out. But they're no longer engineered to last or develop or be very complex, if they ever were.
