For small batch trial blending, Ambrox I use at 10% dilution......ethyl vanillin I use at 5% dilution.

It’s my little humble area. I try my best to not buy too many things and keep only on hand what I know I’ll use in the next year or so (material shelf life) 😊

Nice to see the set up. Love the guitars too, mine are pretty much decorations at this point haha. Maybe one day I’ll feel inspired to play music again

Same here....they have been hung on those walls now for 4 years.... unplayed. They are just decorations I can't seem to part with

I'm starting to see alot of perfumers with musical instruments in their work space. I was also in the music (singing).

Really love this informative vid! A question I had was regarding safety. Your room looks like a room where people can come and go, sit and maybe watch you blend, etc. If I were to set up my materials and blend in a room where others would also come and go, what are some safety measures you’d recommend? I know to keep materials away from children but what else would be helpful if the room I’m blending in is one where other people also enter from turn to time?

as long as you keep your materials stored away in a safe place, out of reach and/or possibly in cabinets/drawers, you should be fine. Just make sur the materials dont come in contact with skin/touch, or easy access to them...cause that can cause material cross contamination. If you have materials sitting out on a organ/shelf...just make sure its out of reach from children/animals. The only thing visitors in the blend room should worry about is the overpowering smell of a bunch of materials, lol. Even in my room i have everything stored away in drawer cabinets, and the room just smells like a massive scent bubble the minute you walk in.

For glass cylinders or glass beakers. Everytime I need to reuse them to combine aroma chemicals, what should I wash the glass beaker with ? Just water ? Dish soap ? I’m not sure.
@bkscents7050
@bkscents7050 3 жыл бұрын
I just use water and soap. Unless there's a real sticky residue on there from stuff like labdanum or benzoin, then I'll soak it in rubbing alcohol for a bit before washing it

Dawn or Dawn Platinum are imo the most superior soaps for cleaning perfumery supplies. They really cut through all the oils and sticky stuff and you don't need much product compared to other brands. Its also great for stains in laundry and obviously dishes.

Why is the scale jumping around
@bkscents7050
@bkscents7050 3 жыл бұрын
The scale reads at 0.000g....so it's pretty sensitive. When it jumps around like that its because I have the ceiling fan going and the air circulation hitting the scale cause it to flux in readouts

@@bkscents7050 I have the same scale and it jumps all over the place as I’m using it. It starts to count down after I tare something.

It may have a static electricity problem them. You need to get an anti static gun and clear the static electricity from it.
