He wanted the guarantee of final 4, and banked that his alliance would stay strong for one more vote. But yeah, he wasn't thinking that his alliance would turn on him at 7. However, if he does play one, it signals to his alliance that James doesn't trust them, which creates a showdown at final 6 where he likely becomes the target and HAS to play the second idol just to stay. At that point, he might have to keep winning individual immunity (which he wasn't very strong at) to stay in at final 5 and/or 4.

@@kylepleban6956 Doubt that. The F6 immunity involved navigatig an obstacle course and knowledge of Chinese history. I doubt James would have been able to keep up with the much smaller Peih-Gee, Amanda, and Todd, who were making quick work of the obstacles. The F5 immunity involved parts of previous challenges, with the top performers moving on. The first part involved throwing stars at targets. James was decent at this challenge, but Erik won previously. The second part involved eating balut. James eventually won his battle against Denise in an earlier challenge, but both essentially gave up--while in this version, Peih-Gee and Amanda killed it. There's basically no way James outperforms the ladies here, who moved on to a wheel puzzle for the final part. The final immunity involved balancing plates and bowls on a wobbly arm. Amanda was rock-solid here, and I highly doubt James beats her here either. James is aces in tribal challenges, where brute strength is far more valuable. In the individual challenges, however, his size and weight are often a hinderance.

Don't know if you take suggestions, or maybe even ideas, but I thought of something that could make an interesting video: Biggest Make or Break Moments Not so much a challenge threat who is a target wins immunity one time, stays 3 more days, just to get voted out later, but huge moments in someone's game that could cause them to pivot to a success story (and maybe the moment is so insignificant they don't realize it at first)

Season 46 we have 5 people IN A ROW get voted out with an idol in their pocket. Every single time I ask myself, "How stupid are they?" And every single time they think "I'm not stupid enough to get voted out with an idol in my pocket," but then they do. So here's how I think I would think about it: Pascal's wager. You know, the one about whether or not it makes sense to believe in God. The same logic applies to immunity idols. It's better to be wrong and still be in the game, than to be wrong and get voted out. If you have an idol in the post-merge portion of the game, play it. Idols only work when you play them.

This might be a hot take but I think it's better to be voted out with a hidden immunity in you're pocket than to miss play a hidden immunity and be voted out afterwards. If you miss play a idol in a majority alliance you have just pressed button to say hey I don't trust some of y'all. Plus you have proven you're Easter egg hunting skills and with some many idols advantages in modern Survivor that can be seen as threatening. God bless :-)
