Definitely Satellites next. I haven't made up my mind what is the best song on this album, but Reptile, Satellites, Garden in the Bones, Blood Eagle and It's Only Smiles are top contenders (I know, I just mentioned half of the album).

YEEEEEEEES! It's so damn good to see someone have the same reaction as me to this masterpiece. I feel like that's why people watch reaction videos. None of my friends like metal. I have to find a feeling of community by other means. It's frustrating having people around you who just doesn't get why songs like these are a big deal.

Eratosthenes agreed brother, i dont get much convo about metal outside these reaction videos 😭

Me neither. Everyone I know listens to country and rap and fucking lady Gaga, and when I show what few friends I have that actually listen to rock or metal they’re just like “uhh it’s too heavy, what is he saying”. So I agree with you. Songs like these bring up a wide range of emotions for me and I can’t share em with anyone else because they just don’t understand. This is really the only type of music that has actually brought me to tears or given me chills (especially periphery). So I feel you man. I’ve tried showing people some songs and they either don’t listen or whatever. It is what it is, they’re missing out lol

Bacon Man Periphery is one of those bands where it’s actually really easy to make out what Spencer is saying. I mean it’s not like they’re suicide silence. If they really say they like metal then they would get that.

Mmm.. do love me some guitar solos, and 12 minutes into this video it was pretty sweet, and I liked the transition into strings there too. This is a very adventurous song. There was a heck of a lot to appreciate in this song even though I'm a guy who dislikes metal screams. Cool recommendation.
@SequenceBreaker645 жыл бұрын
If there was a band to get you into screams, it would be these guys. Craziest vocal diversity and range I've ever heard from one person. Definately check out some of their less screamy stuff though: Absolomb, Satellites, Scarlet, Lune

Hey man great video!. This song really is a banger. I love progressive metal, so the length of the song along with all the different switch ups through the song was awesome. If you wanna get into some prog stuff, I'd highly suggest slice the cake. Hasn't been many people that have done videos on them, but the ones that have usually start with, Stone and silver Part one - The mountain of man. Its from their concept album called Odyssey to the west. One of the best albums I've ever heard, I don't think you'll be dissapointed man.
@levilee2075 жыл бұрын
Yo! I really enjoy your takes on the various parts of the songs and I like that we gel on the same parts (that rock n roll riff early on is so small but it's such a great part regardless). I normally despise reaction channels but you seem like a really chill dude so this has been nice haha. If you're up for toning it down just a tad, I'm curious if you'd be interested in listening to some Coheed and Cambria. Like Periphery, they're proggy, but not quite as heavy. They've got two 9 minute songs on their second album (21:13 and The Light And The Glass) which are trips on their own, and they have plenty of great tracks recently, too (Domino the Destitute and The Dark Sentencer are great). The whole band is centered around a graphic novel the vocalist writes, so it's all written like a big space opera. It's great fun! As for Periphery, if you're interested in continuing, Rainbow Gravity, MK Ultra, Motormouth, Habitual Line Stepper, and Prayer Position are all brutal bangers. Highly recommend.
@davereacts1315 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words and all of the suggestions! I really appreciate that. I'll be sure to check some of these out. I think Coheed would be a great band to do some reactions to. I absolutely loved Unheavenly Creatures, and there's a bunch of their older stuff that I haven't heard that I am super curious about now.

Great video, appreciate your honesty, I don't think anyone could fully analyze and perceive this song with only 1 listen. You should maybe try Animals as Leaders' Aepirophobia or The brain Dance next, they are instrumental and a bit less saturated than periphery's songs, hope you like it if you do listen to them!
@fullmetalsoz15 жыл бұрын
Dave! Loved the reaction. You have to do "garden in tge bones" next. As Reptile and it share the same riff. And even the lyrics from reptile... "soil we own", is the underlying theme for garden in the bones. Also "follow your ghost" is amazing!!!

I think it's too early for you to hear Satellites, you should listen to more of their older stuff before hearing what is possibly their best song. You mentioned a classic rock guitar sound early in the song, and I thought I was hearing that too, even though I know very little about music. Cool.
