“Faithfully Yours” (1942) is a short promo film for Victor Animatograph Corporation’s Victor Animatophone Model 40A 16mm film projector. I love watching these old Victor Animatograph/Animatophone films as the company was based in my hometown of Davenport, IA. I reside there again and I believe the factory is still standing as part of the Eaton factory at 2734 Hickory Grove Road. Up until recently it was Cobham Mission Systems and before that it was Bendix Life Support.

I'm sure this will help future preservationists. I find it interesting that we are watching a digital video about an 82 year old film about film projectors! Keep up the good work!

Truly a magnificent machine..... for its time. In the UK the main projector used in village halls etc was the Bell and Howell, a rather large grey box. It usually came with an operator who did their best to keep doggy film stock from breaking and when it did it was in most cases a moments respite from a uninteresting film. It was nice to hear the clicking as the film struggled to get through the gate sometimes leaving an irritating 'hair in the gate' . Thanks for posting.

In high school back in the late 1970’s to early 1980’s we had 2 possibly 3 projectors. One had automatic threading. One of my teachers referred to the manual threading projector as a stick shift projector. Then we started transitioning to reel to reel video tape players.

I don’t remember with certainty the builders of the projectors that were in my grade school back in the 1970’s but it took awhile to set up and the projectors themselves were almost as loud as the sound from the film. But movies were always a fun diversion. We certainly have come a long way.

I found it interesting when they were mentioning the various places where 16mm projectors are used they mentioned churches, businesses etc. but failed to mention schools where 16mm projectors were probably used more than anywhere else. Maybe they weren't as common in schools in 1942 but I have one or two educational films that date from the late 1930s so they were around.
