Absolutely impressive stuff given the technology of the time! Nice to see sounding rockets getting a mention. They were invaluable for developing the technology and experiments that would be used on later spacecraft traveling to other planets. We still use sounding rockets today but no-one talks about them :-/ Dr Newell is somewhat optimistic about the duration and capabilities of the Ranger and Surveyor spacecraft so that puts this film pre-1964. (Could even be pre-1961 since he talks about them in the future tense.) However, the achievements of the Surveyor program should not be underestimated since these paved the way for the Apollo program. It is interesting how similar the experiments conducted by the Surveyor landers are to the ones we send to Mars today. Surveyor 3 is the only lander that has been visited by another mission - Apollo 12 in 1969. Fun quiz.... Q. When was the first powered flight by a craft/probe that had landed on a celestial body? i.e. landed, took off, maneuvered, and landed again. A. 17 November 1967 by Surveyor 6.

The narrator talks about future probes, specifically the Ranger series. The first Ranger launched in Aug. 1961, so this film was made before that.

There are better choices, if one feels the need to believe in the supernatural, magic, and invisible beings But congratulations for finding useless info. Didn't your creation include the rest of the universe? Do you have anything to support your belief, as in your 1st post, why you chose to believe space is fake? You keep avoiding answering where you believe the moon, the sun and the rest of the universe is, since you somehow prefer to believe space is fake. Have you never closed your book of myth and looked up?
