20:02- The "Detroit Edison" was built by the Manitowoc Ship Building Corp. in Manitowoc, Wisconsin in 1954, and launched in April 1955. It was lengthened in the winter of 1966, and finally "retired" from service in 1986. It was towed to Brownsville, Texas that year for disposal as scrap.

One day, if we live long enough, we might be watching a film showing vacuum techniques being used to make Soylent Green... _(if a certain Mr Gates has his way)._

It's interesting that they conflate a vacuum cleaner, which is NOT a true vacuum device with devices that are true vacuum devices such as the coffee pot. The "Industry on Parade" segments sponsored by the National Association of Manufacturers was primarily fueled by propaganda for the "American Way." The actual demonstrative presentations are timeless gems that deserve to be curated in perpetuity, they are simply amazing and fascinating. I really enjoy watching these segments.

Back when the American Dream was in reach, and there was prosperity to be had for all. That is, if we didn't blow ourselves back to the Stone Age with atomic weapons. There's an old saying: the third world war will likely be fought with nukes; the fourth world war with sticks and spears.

For a better perspective it's worth watching this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5avaZhnasimm7s Under the banner of "The National Education Program" Harding College (now university) "back in the day" produced a series of presentations made by Professor Clifton L. Ganus that are absolutely "mind blowing" in view of today's perspective.

This video makes me think about that one Batman & Robin episode where the evil guys dehydrate the faux United Nations members at the conference table and the Masked Crusader rehydrates the little piles of dust back into their bodies.
