Nice film but it highlights something that is missing from our lives today... the small FAMILY farm and the nearby small towns that they did their business with. Now, most everything is corporate and having 500 acres won't support you and your family without someone working elsewhere. Thanks for the upload.

This is not the 1963 version of this dairy council film, but instead is the earlier 1951 version as evidenced by not only the vehicle and the clothing, but also the accompanying 1951 dairy council book of the same name which features screen shots from this earlier version of the film. The 1963 version of this film is posted elsewhere on KZbin.

And MST3K does an excellent riff on the 1963 version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHe1hGaCgsx5nK8

I have not seen either version, all I know the auto is a late 40's Ford Woodie like was used in a lot of Roy Rogers shows on TV in early 50's

Yep. You're right. The wooden car is like new. I was born in 52 and lived on one of these farms until my parents went broke in 62. Moved to suburbs. Still miss it. Better times for most of us. Healthier.

There is a long tradition of reciprocal family fostering in Northwestern Europe. Most cultures there followed the practice of sending 2nd and 3rd cousin children on what were essentially a "Family fostering tour" to cement family bonds and encourage personal relationships with what we would consider today to be distant relatives. (edit: wrong tense on the verb in the last subclause)

Others mentioned but I immediately thought of the MST3K version from 1963. The film is almost verbatim. Nonetheless, I enjoy both which depict a simpler time from my youth.

I know our country has advanced in many way such as technology and medical advancements...BUT along the way we have lost our sense of community and our culture has been corrupted by political ideology and political correctness. Also, social media and the news media has warped how we see our country and the world.
