My dad was in the 5th AF, 3rd Attack Group, which flew the A-20 & B-25, switching over to the A-20 completely. I grew up looking at some great photos of the low level tactics they did against the Japanese. Dad was in the photo section, but did go up in a A-20 as a gunner for about six missions before the photo gear showed up. Always thought this plane never got the attention it should have. Met a pilot from dad's group who flew both the B-25 & A-20 and said the A-20 felt like a sports car compared to the B-25. Thanks for the posting.

75 deg max bank angle. That is pretty steep angle of bank, with no fear of banked stall and spin entry. B-52G/H are about 60-65. Something that dearly departed former USAF LTC. Bud Holland pushed , and something had to give . CZAR 52 stalled in steep bank, at low altitude, and crashed into terrain. Barely missing base's fuel bunkers, and nearby 'special munitions' hardened earth bunkers.

Have you ever heard of "Mopic" videos. It contains clips marked"TCR" and/or split-s. They consist of many military aviation videos, training and other wise. They have a lot in common with what you present. The A- 20 was such an underrated air craft and now there is one back in flying condition. Owned by The Lewis Air Legends, bn 42-21709 is the only air worthy example. It has the skull an cross bones painted on the nose of the 312th Bombardment group based in New Guinea, Netherlands East Indies, and the Philippines during WWII. It was the only single pilot twin engine American attack aircraft of the war. Thank you for bringing it to the forefront and God Bless, Paul.

What about the P38? And the P61? Both twin engine, single pilot, American planes...

What version? Why convert from a Medium type to an aging light bomber soon to be replaced?

Did not realize that she couldn’t take aggressive manufacturing.

Isn't the contribution of the A-20 to allied victory one of the least known facts of WW2?
